The available movement data limit the type of questions that can be asked, and as a result, certain aspects of human spatial mobility have yet to be examined. The development of information and communication technologies and their widespread adoption offers new datasets, methods and interpretations that make it possible to study social processes at a new level. For example, mobile positioning data can aid in overcoming certain constraints embedded in traditional data sources (such as censuses or questionnaires) for study of the connections between daily mobility and change of residence. This study presents a framework for mapping changes of residence using data from passive mobile positioning and an anchor point model to better understand the limits of these methods and their contribution to understanding long-term mobility. The study concludes that the most important considerations in monitoring change of residence using passive mobile position data include the continuity of the time-series data, the varying structure of the mobile tower network and the diversified nature of human mobility. The fine spatial and temporal granularities of passive mobile positioning data allow us to study human movement at a detailed scale. Given a road network with POIs (Points of Interest), which is modeled as a road network graph, where each node locating in a two-dimensional space represents a road intersection or a POI, and each edge with weight represents a road segment, the PACK query aims to find a group of popular POIs (i.e., a popular region) that cover the query’s keywords and satisfy the distance requirements from each node to the query node and between each pair of nodes, such that the sum of rating scores over these nodes for the query keywords is maximized. We show the problem of answering the PACK query is NP-Hard. To solve this problem, we present exact and heuristic solutions on small and large road networks, respectively. In particular, to improve query performance, we propose a rating score scaling technique to reduce the search space and a redundant computation reducing technique to reduce the excessive redundant computations in query processing. Extensive performance studies using two real datasets confirm the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the proposed solutions. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) The semantic classification of point clouds is a fundamental part of three-dimensional urban reconstruction. For datasets with high spatial resolution but significantly more noises, a general trend is to exploit more contexture information to surmount the decrease of discrimination of features for classification. However, previous works on adoption of contexture information are either too restrictive or only in a small region and in this paper, we propose a point cloud classification method based on multi-level semantic relationships, including point–homogeneity, supervoxel–adjacency and class–knowledge constraints, which is more versatile and incrementally propagate the classification cues from individual points to the object level and formulate them as a graphical model. The point–homogeneity constraint clusters points with similar geometric and radiometric properties into regular-shaped supervoxels that correspond to the vertices in the graphical model. The supervoxel–adjacency constraint contributes to the pairwise interactions by providing explicit adjacent relationships between supervoxels. The class–knowledge constraint operates at the object level based on semantic rules, guaranteeing the classification correctness of supervoxel clusters at that level. International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) benchmark tests have shown that the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance with an average per-area completeness and correctness of 93.88% and 95.78%, respectively. The evaluation of classification of photogrammetric point clouds and DSM generated from aerial imagery confirms the method’s reliability in several challenging urban scenes.
