[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) VGI is an attractive source of data, but the quality assurance limits its usages. This study proposes a framework to estimate the quality of the VGI and to classify them based on the user’s need. For this purpose, a set of properties is defined to describe the data in various aspects. The principal component analysis (PCA) method is applied to reach a new set of uncorrelated indicators (UI). Volunteered data is classified based on the user’s need and takes a quality index (QI). UI and QI values are used to train the ANN. Finally, the trained ANN determines the output of the network in a way that returns QI using the UI as inputs. The proposed method was applied to estimate the quality classes of VGI in a part of an urban area. According to the results of the confusion matrix, the total accuracy of the proposed framework was 81.6%. [Termes IGN] triangulationRésumé : (auteur) This paper outlines a new framework for the calibration of optical instruments, in particular smartphone cameras, using highly redundant circular black-and-white target fields. New methods were introduced for (i) matching targets between images; (ii) adjusting the systematic eccentricity error of target centres; and (iii) iteratively improving the calibration solution through a free-network self-calibrating bundle adjustment. The proposed method effectively matched circular targets in 270 smartphone images, taken within a calibration laboratory, with robustness to type II errors (false negatives). The proposed eccentricity adjustment, which requires only camera projective matrices from two views, behaved comparably to available closed-form solutions, which require additional a priori object-space target information. Finally, specifically for the case of mobile devices, the calibration parameters obtained using the framework were found to be superior compared to in situ calibration for estimating the 3D reconstructed radius of a mechanical pipe (approximately 45% improvement on average). [Termes IGN] téléphonie mobileRésumé : (auteur) Digital billboards, as a new form of outdoor advertising, has gained popularity in recent years per its revolutionized way to control when and where the specific ads appear. However, this development also demands more complicated optimization for strategic deployments: the advertisers have to not only decide on a set of locations to display their ads, but also when to display them. The existing static optimization approaches become insufficient for this dynamic scenario to match advertisement and intended audience. Therefore, this research proposes three models in a workflow to mine mobile phone data and points of interest (POIs) data and to meet advertising needs in various situations. The three optimization models include a dynamic audience model to maximize the coverage of the target users, a dynamic environment model to maximize the coverage of the target environment, and a dynamic integrated model to maximize the coverage of both target audience and environment. A case study using shopping ads in Wuxue, China tests the three optimalization models. The results show that the proposed models are effective for providing an optimal solution for digital billboard configuration with a greater coverage of the target audience and environment compared to the state-of-the-art static models. [Termes IGN] Vancouver (Colombie britannique)Résumé : (Auteur) This research study extends the Logic Scoring of Preference (LSP) as a general multicriteria evaluation (MCE) method by presenting and evaluating a new GIS.LSP method and software tool implemented within the geographic information systems (GIS) environment. For the evaluation and validation of the method and software tool, we describe a case study of urban densification suitability analysis using geospatial data for the Metro Vancouver Region, Canada. The criteria, LSP structures, and aggregators groups were developed from the perspective of urban developers who are key stakeholders in the densification process. We compare two group of aggregators and perform sensitivity and cost–suitability analysis of the LSP method by variation of input suitability scores, input attributes, and aggregators. The results indicate the GIS.LSP method is effective in providing a flexible and sensitive workflow to create realistic and justifiable outcomes from complex criteria that are bounded by stakeholders' goals and requirements. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur) In this study, the effect of different sampling rates (i.e. observation recording interval) on the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) solutions in terms of accuracy was investigated. For this purpose, a field test was carried out in Çorum province, Turkey, on 11 September 2019. Within this context, a Geodetic Point (GP) was established and precisely coordinated. A static GNSS measurement was occupied on the GP for about 4-hour time at 0.10 second (s)/10 Hz measurement intervals with the Trimble R10 geodetic grade GNSS receiver. The original observation file was converted to RINEX format and then decimated into the different data sampling rates as 0.2 s, 0.5 s, 1 s, 5 s, 10 s, 30 s, 60 s, and 120 s. All these RINEX observation files were submitted to the Canadian Spatial Reference System-Precise Point Positioning (CSRS-PPP) online processing service the day after the data collection date by choosing both static and kinematic processing options. In this way, PPP-derived static coordinates, and the kinematic coordinates of each measurement epoch were calculated. The PPP-derived coordinates obtained from each decimated sampling intervals were compared to known coordinates of the GP for northing, easting, 2D position, and height components. According to the static and kinematic processing results, high data sampling rates did not change the PPP solutions in terms of accuracy when compared to the results obtained using lower sampling rates. The results of this study imply that it was not necessary to collect GNSS data with high-rate intervals for many surveying projects requiring cm-level accuracy.
