[Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) Changes in atmosphere, ground conditions, and sensor response between multitemporal airborne imaging sessions have limited the use of fixed target hyperspectral libraries in helping to identify targets in heterogeneous (cluttered) backgrounds. This hyperspectral target signature instability has resulted in using anomaly detection algorithms to detect targets in real time applications. The anomaly detection algorithms, however, have not detected targets at sufficiently low false alarm rates. This study examines mathematical transforms of target spectral signatures. Specifically this study uses statistical information regarding background clutter taken from one long-wave infrared (LWIR) hyperspectral (8-12jum) airborne imagery flown on one day, to find the target spectral signature flown on another day (with significantly dissimilar weather conditions). The transforms use overlapping regions in the two data sets but without subpixel level registration. This work analyzes image cubes collected during the November 1998 Hyperspectral Day/Night Radiometry Assessment (HYDRA) data collect. The transformed signatures used in matched filter searches successfully find targets (even targets nearly covered) with low false alarm rates ( Numéro de notice : A2002-178 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1109/TGRS.2002.1006361 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1109/TGRS.2002.1006361 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=22093

[Termes IGN] restauration d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) An investigation of the application of 1 -m Ikonos satellite imagery to 3D point positioning and building reconstruction is reported. The focus of the evaluation of Geo panchromatic imagery has been upon 3D positioning accuracy, radiometric quality and attributes of the image data for building feature extraction. Following an initial review of characteristics of the Ikonos system, the multi-image dataset employed is described, as is the Melbourne Ikonos testfield. Radiometric quality and image preprocessing aspects are discussed, with attention being given to noise level and artifacts, as well as to methods of image enhancement. The results of 2D and 3D metric accuracy tests using straightforward geometric sensor models are summarised, these showing that planimetric accuracy of 0.3-0.6 m and height accuracy of 0.5-0.9 m are readily achievable with only three to six ground control points. A quantitative and qualitative assessment of the use of stereo Ikonos imagery for generating building models is then provided, using the campus of the University of Melbourne as an evaluation site. The results of this assessment are discussed, these highlighting the high accuracy potential of Ikonos Geo imagery and limitations to be considered in building reconstruction when a comprehensive and detailed modelling is required. [Termes IGN] seuillage d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) The paper addresses the detection of changes in multitemporal polarimetric radar images, focusing on small objects and narrow linear features. The images were acquired at C- and L-band by the airborne EMISAR system. It is found that the radar intensities are better suited for change detection than the correlation coefficient and the phase difference between the co-polarized channels. In the case of linear features, there is no obvious difference between C- and L-band, and slight variations of the flight tracks are acceptable at look angles larger than 35 degrees. Theoretical detection thresholds are evaluated from the statistical distribution of the intensity ratio due to speckle. For the linear features and for urban environments, the observed thresholds are larger than the theoretical predictions. This is interpreted as an effect of radar intensity variations on length scales smaller than the spatial image resolution. The signature of urban areas is very sensitive to deviations between the flight tracks, and the sensitivity is larger at C-band than at L-band. On the other hand, the intensity contrast between buildings and the urban background is smaller at L-band and larger at C-band. For change detection, thresholds may have to be chosen separately for each object class because the intensity ratios of different object classes vary differently as a function of time.
