[Termes IGN] topologieRésumé : (Auteur) Traditional geographic information system (GIS)-overlay routines usually build on relatively simple data models. Topology is – if at all – calculated on the fly for very specific tasks only. If, for example, a change comparison is conducted between two or more polygon layers, the result leads mostly to a complete and also very complex from–to class intersection. A lot of additional processing steps need to be performed to arrive at aggregated and meaningful results. To overcome this problem a new, automated geospatial overlay method in a topologically enabled (multi-scale) framework is presented. The implementation works with polygon and raster layers and uses a multi-scale vector/raster data model developed in the object-based image analysis software eCognition (Trimble Geospatial Imaging, Munich, Germany). Advantages are the use of the software inherent topological relationships in an object-by-object comparison, addressing some of the basic concepts of object-oriented data modeling such as classification, generalization, and aggregation. Results can easily be aggregated to a change-detection layer; change dependencies and the definition of different change classes are interactively possible through the use of a class hierarchy and its inheritance (parent–child class relationships). Implementation is exemplarily shown for a change comparison of CORINE Land Cover data sets. The result is a flexible and transferable solution which is – if parameterized once – fully automated. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Building detection from remote sensed images is the main technique to monitor economic or environmental develop-ment of an area. Advanced Land Observing Satellite (alos) and SPOT data are reliable sources due to the limitation of weather, position, time, and other practical reasons. How-ever, to the best of our knowledge, algorithms proposed in the identification of buildings mostly aim only at images with very high spatial resolution or high spectral resolution. There are few algorithms for detecting buildings from ALOS and SPOT data. A built-up detection index (bdi) is proposed in this paper to automatically identify buildings from images with 10 meters resolution. It synthesizes morphological theory and normalized differential vegetation index (NDVl) to enhance buildings by suppressing vegetation. Four images of ALOS and SPOT are used to verify the efficiency, stability and ac-curacy of BDI. Experiments show that BDI is suitable to detect buildings from 10 meters resolution with reliable accuracy. [Termes IGN] télédétection spatialeRésumé : (Auteur) Ancillary geodata can supply information to enhance classification accuracy for a variety of remote-sensing applications. To understand the integration of different data into a knowledge-based multisource classification process, this paper evaluates the significance of geodata for the classification accuracy of a very high spatial resolution satellite image for the identification of forest types in Germany. The approach utilizes a fuzzy-logic classifier for the integration of a knowledge base, which combines spectral information with ancillary data layers. The results of the classification were used to test a method for evaluating the influence of the integration of single geodata, the effects on different classes, and the impacts of the applied rules. A microarray significance analysis (MSA) was used to evaluate the significance of the classification results, whereas an ISODATA clustering was utilized for visualizing. A sequence of 50 accuracy assessments of classifications with possible combinations of geodata and rules for the identified classes was derived. The resulting microarray of accuracy percentages of single classes and the overall classification was used for further investigation. The MSA supplies the measure of significance, called relative difference d(i). The MSA identified 11 classifications of positive significance (d(i) greater than 1.44) and three classifications of negative significance (d(i) lower than -2.87). In particular, classifications that contain all rules were rated as positive significant. [Termes IGN] vecteur aléatoire multidimensionnelRésumé : (Auteur) Sparse unmixing assumes that each mixed pixel in the hyperspectral image can be expressed as a linear combination of only a few spectra (endmembers) in a spectral library, known a priori. It then aims at estimating the fractional abundances of these endmembers in the scene. Unfortunately, because of the usually high correlation of the spectral library, the sparse unmixing problem still remains a great challenge. Moreover, most related work focuses on the l1 convex relaxation methods, and little attention has been paid to the use of simultaneous sparse representation via greedy algorithms (GAs) (SGA) for sparse unmixing. SGA has advantages such as that it can get an approximate solution for the l0 problem directly without smoothing the penalty term in a low computational complexity as well as exploit the spatial information of the hyperspectral data. Thus, it is necessary to explore the potential of using such algorithms for sparse unmixing. Inspired by the existing SGA methods, this paper presents a novel GA termed subspace matching pursuit (SMP) for sparse unmixing of hyperspectral data. SMP makes use of the low-degree mixed pixels in the hyperspectral image to iteratively find a subspace to reconstruct the hyperspectral data. It is proved that, under certain conditions, SMP can recover the optimal endmembers from the spectral library. Moreover, SMP can serve as a dictionary pruning algorithm. Thus, it can boost other sparse unmixing algorithms, making them more accurate and time efficient. Experimental results on both synthetic and real data demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. [Termes IGN] image hyperspectraleRésumé : (Auteur) Given only the collected hyperspectral data, unmixing aims at obtaining the latent constituent materials and their corresponding fractional abundances. Recently, many nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF)-based algorithms have been developed to deal with this issue. Considering that the abundances of most materials may be sparse, the sparseness constraint is intuitively introduced into NMF. Although sparse NMF algorithms have achieved advanced performance in unmixing, the result is still susceptible to unstable decomposition and noise corruption. To reduce the aforementioned drawbacks, the structural information of the data is exploited to guide the unmixing. Since similar pixel spectra often imply similar substance constructions, clustering can explicitly characterize this similarity. Through maintaining the structural information during the unmixing, the resulting fractional abundances by the proposed algorithm can well coincide with the real distributions of constituent materials. Moreover, the additional clustering-based regularization term also lessens the interference of noise to some extent. The experimental results on synthetic and real hyperspectral data both illustrate the superiority of the proposed method compared with other state-of-the-art algorithms.
