[Termes IGN] seuillage d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) The narrow-band interference (NBI) is a common jamming signal against synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which can degrade the imaging quality severely. This paper proposes a new method for NBI suppression in the data domain based on the independent component analysis (ICA). In this method, echoes contaminated by the NBI are identified in the frequency domain. Next, time filtering and whitening are performed to the identified echoes. Then, the ICA is carried out to decompose the echoes into a series of basis signals, and the jamming components are selected by thresholding. Finally, the NBI is reconstructed and subtracted from the echoes, and the well-focused SAR imagery is obtained by conventional imaging methods. The proposed method copes well with the time-varying NBI with little signal loss. Results of simulated and measured data have proved the validity of the proposed method. [Termes IGN] visualisation simultanéeRésumé : (Auteur) If sites, cities, and landscapes are captured at different points in time using technology such as LiDAR, large collections of 3D point clouds result. Their efficient storage, processing, analysis, and presentation constitute a challenging task because of limited computation, memory, and time resources. In this work, we present an approach to detect changes in massive 3D point clouds based on an out-of-core spatial data structure that is designed to store data acquired at different points in time and to efficiently attribute 3D points with distance information. Based on this data structure, we present and evaluate different processing schemes optimized for performing the calculation on the CPU and GPU. In addition, we present a point-based rendering technique adapted for attributed 3D point clouds, to enable effective out-of-core real-time visualization of the computation results. Our approach enables conclusions to be drawn about temporal changes in large highly accurate 3D geodata sets of a captured area at reasonable preprocessing and rendering times. We evaluate our approach with two data sets from different points in time for the urban area of a city, describe its characteristics, and report on applications. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we present an approach for automatic analysis of urban accessibility using 3D point clouds. Our approach is based on range images and it consists in two main steps: urban objects segmentation and curbs detection. Both of them are required for accessibility diagnosis and itinerary planning. Our method automatically segments facades and urban objects using two hypotheses: facades are the highest vertical structures in the scene and objects are bumps on the ground on the range image. The segmentation result is used to build an urban obstacle map. After that, the gradient is computed on the ground range image. Curb candidates are selected using height and geodesic features. Then, nearby curbs are reconnected using Bézier curves. Finally, accessibility is defined based on geometrical features and accessibility standards. Our methodology is tested on two MLS databases from Paris (France) and Enschede (The Netherlands). Our experiments show that our method has good detection rates, is fast and presents few false alarms. Our method outperforms other works reported in the literature on the same databases. [Termes IGN] Utah (Etas-Unis)Résumé : (Auteur) Land managers need to rapidly assess vegetation composition and bare ground to effectively evaluate and manage shrub steppe communities that have been encroached by pinyon and juniper trees. We used an object-based image analysis (obia) approach to estimate land cover classes found in pinyon-juniper woodlands, and evaluated the relationship between ground measurements and OBIA land cover measurements. We acquired high-spatial resolution color-infrared imagery for five sites with a Vexcel UltraCamX digital camera in June 2009. We simultaneously collected ground-based cover measurements within 30 m x 33 m subplots. OBIA mean land cover class differences by site ranged from underestimating litter by 3 percent to overestimating live trees by 1 percent when compared to ground-based measurements. Overall accuracy for thematic maps was 84 percent with a Kappa statistic of 0.80. Although OBIA cover estimates varied slightly from ground cover estimates, methods provide land managers with options for prioritizing management practices and enabling monitoring at an operational scale. [Termes IGN] méthode des moindres carrésRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents an approach to automated identification of slum area change patterns in Hyderabad, India, using multi-year and multi-sensor very high resolution satellite imagery. It relies upon a lacunarity-based slum detection algorithm, combined with Canny- and LSD-based imagery pre-processing routines. This method outputs plausible and spatially explicit slum locations for the whole urban agglomeration of Hyderabad in years 2003 and 2010. The results indicate a considerable growth of area occupied by slums between these years and allow identification of trends in slum development in this urban agglomeration.
