[Termes IGN] SURF (algorithme)Résumé : (Auteur) To register mobile mapping system (MMS) lidar points and panoramic-image sequences, a relative orientation model of panoramic images (PROM) is proposed. The PROM is suitable for cases in which attitude or orientation parameters are unknown in the panoramic-image sequence. First, feature points are extracted and matched from panoramic-image pairs using the SURF algorithm. Second, these matched feature points are used to solve the relative attitude parameters in the PROM. Then, combining the PROM with the absolute position and attitude parameters of the initial panoramic image, the MMS lidar points and panoramic-image sequence are registered. Finally, the registration accuracy of the PROM method is assessed using corresponding points manually selected from the MMS lidar points and panoramic-image sequence. The results show that three types of MMS data sources are registered accurately based on the proposed registration method. Our method transforms the registration of panoramic images and lidar points into image feature-point matching, which is suitable for diverse road scenes compared with existing methods. [Termes IGN] SlovénieRésumé : (Auteur) Building footprint detection based on orthophotos can be used to update the building cadastre. In recent years deep learning methods using convolutional neural networks have been increasingly used around the world. We present an example of automatic building classification using our datasets made of colour near-infrared orthophotos (NIR-R-G) and colour orthophotos (R-G-B). Building detection using pretrained weights from two large scale datasets Microsoft Common Objects in Context (MS COCO) and ImageNet was performed and tested. We applied the Mask Region Convolutional Neural Network (Mask R-CNN) to detect the building footprints. The purpose of our research is to identify the applicability of pre-trained neural networks on the data of another colour space to build a classification model without re-learning. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (auteur) The binary segmentation of roads in very high resolution (VHR) remote sensing images (RSIs) has always been a challenging task due to factors such as occlusions (caused by shadows, trees, buildings, etc.) and the intraclass variances of road surfaces. The wide use of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) has greatly improved the segmentation accuracy and made the task end-to-end trainable. However, there are still margins to improve in terms of the completeness and connectivity of the results. In this article, we consider the specific context of road extraction and present a direction-aware residual network (DiResNet) that includes three main contributions: 1) an asymmetric residual segmentation network with deconvolutional layers and a structural supervision to enhance the learning of road topology (DiResSeg); 2) a pixel-level supervision of local directions to enhance the embedding of linear features; and 3) a refinement network to optimize the segmentation results (DiResRef). Ablation studies on two benchmark data sets (the Massachusetts data set and the DeepGlobe data set) have confirmed the effectiveness of the presented designs. Comparative experiments with other approaches show that the proposed method has advantages in both overall accuracy and F1-score. The code is available at: https://github.com/ggsDing/DiResNet . [Termes IGN] superpixelRésumé : (auteur) Hyperspectral images encompass abundant information and provide unique characteristics for material classification. However, the labeling of training samples can be challenging in hyperspectral image classification. To address this problem, this study proposes a framework named flexible Gabor-based superpixel-level unsupervised linear discriminant analysis (FG- Su ULDA) to extract the most informative and discriminating features for classification. First, a number of 3-D flexible Gabor filters are rigorously designed using an asymmetric sinusoidal wave to sufficiently characterize the spatial–spectral structure in hyperspectral images. Then, an unsupervised linear discriminant analysis strategy guided by the entropy rate superpixel (ERS) segmentation algorithm, called Su ULDA, is skillfully introduced to reduce the extracted large amount of FG features. The Su ULDA method not only boosts the classification capability but also increases the peculiarity of features, with the aid of superpixel information. Finally, the achieved features are imported to the popular support vector machine classifier. The proposed FG- Su ULDA framework is applied to four real hyperspectral image data sets, and the experiments constantly prove that our FG- Su ULDA is superior to several state-of-the-art methods in both classification performance and computational efficiency, especially with scarce training samples. [Termes IGN] segmentation sémantiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Building detection in big earth data by remote sensing is crucial for urban development. However, improving its accuracy remains challenging due to complicated background objects and different viewing angles from various remotely sensed images. The hereto proposed methods predominantly focus on multi-scale feature learning, which omits features in multiple aspect ratios. Moreover, postprocessing is required to refine the segmentation performance. We propose modified semantic segmentation (MSegnet), a single-shot semantic segmentation model based on a matrix of convolution layers to extract features in multiple scales and aspect ratios. MSegnet consists of two modules: backbone feature learning and matrix convolution to conduct vertical and horizontal learning. The matrix convolution comprises a set of convolution operations with different aspect ratios. MSegnet is applied to a public building data set that is widely used for evaluation and shown to achieve satisfactory accuracy, compared with the published single-shot methods.
