[Vedettes matières IGN] Inventaire forestierRésumé : (auteur) When conducting a forest inventory, sometimes portions of plots cannot be measured due to inaccessibility. Two primary methods have been presented to account for partial nonresponse in the estimation phase: (i) use a ratio-to-size estimator or (ii) apply an adjustment factor to all plot observations in proportion to the missing area. Both approaches provide identical estimates of the population mean, but the estimates of variance differ when partial nonresponse is present. The performance of variance estimators was examined for a range of population forest area and partial nonresponse proportions in the sample. The ratio-to-size variance estimator performed unbiasedly with respect to simulation results, but the adjustment factor variance estimates were biased, with magnitude and direction dependent upon the forest area proportion and amount of partial nonresponse. The bias is relatively small when the partial nonresponse is small, which is often the case; however, the ratio-to-size method is preferred to ensure accurate variance estimation for a wide range of circumstances.

[Termes IGN] voxelRésumé : (auteur) Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) water vapor (WV) tomography is a promising technique to reconstruct the three-dimensional (3D) WV field. However, this technique usually suffers from the ill-posed problem caused by the poor geometry of GNSS rays, resulting in underdetermined tomographic equations. Such equations often rely on iterative methods for solving, but conventional iterative approaches require accurate initial WV density. To address this demand, we proposed two models for WV density estimation. One is the conventional model (CO model) that consists of an exponential model and a linear least-squares model, which are used to describe the spatial and temporal variability of the WV density, respectively. The other is a neural network model (NN model) that uses a backpropagation neural network (BPNN) to fit the nonlinear variation of WV density in both spatial and temporal domains. WV density derived from a Hong Kong (HK) radiosonde station (RS) during 2020 was used to validate the proposed models. Validation results show that both models well describe the spatial and temporal distribution of the WV density. The NN model exhibits better prediction performance than the CO model in terms of root mean square error (RMSE) and bias. We also applied the proposed models to GNSS WV tomography to test their performance in extreme weather conditions. Test results show that the proposed model-based GNSS tomography can correct the content of WV density but cannot accurately sense its irregular distribution. [Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (auteur) The precise satellite clock bias prediction is critical in improving the positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) service capabilities of the global navigation satellite system (GNSS). Due to the influence of satellite signal path and the observation environment, the satellite clock bias data usually contain outliers that heavily affect the accuracy of satellite clock bias prediction. Based on the time series ARMA model and Bayes statistical theory, we propose a method to precisely predict satellite clock bias and detect outliers in the historical sequence of satellite clock bias. At first, considering the effects of an additive outlier (AO) and innovative outlier (IO), a labeling model for robustly fitting the time series ARMA model and detecting AOs and IOs simultaneously is constructed based on the labeling method of classification variables. Second, the Bayes method for robustly fitting time series ARMA model is proposed based on the Bayes statistical theory. Furthermore, it develops an algorithm to precisely predict satellite clock bias using the Bayes method for robustly fitting the time series ARMA model mentioned above. Finally, in order to illustrate the performance of the method for precisely predicting satellite clock bias that we presented, three examples are designed based on the real GPS data come from the IGS official website, and the prediction results of the method are compared with that of original ARMA model (oARMA), quadratic polynomial model (QP) and gray model (GM). It is found that the method can precisely predict the satellite clock bias as well as accurately detect the outliers in the historical sequence. [Termes IGN] voie ferréeRésumé : (auteur) Recent developments in the field of rail vehicles increased the demand for accurate and up-to-date 3D maps of rail track networks. Collision avoidance systems, semi-automated, or fully autonomous rail vehicles strongly benefit from such high quality maps. In this work, we present a fully automatic, photogrammetric method for the 3D reconstruction of rail track segments. More specifically, the center line of the rail track is reconstructed as a georeferenced and continuous 3D cubic spline. The main data inputs are collected while driving the rail vehicle along the segment: (a) images from a front-looking camera and (b) observations from a low-cost GNSS receiver. Optional data inputs can be used to increase the reconstruction accuracy, namely (c) an a priori rail track (e.g. from OpenStreetMap), (d) a digital height model (DHM), and (e) ground control points (GCPs). The rail track is estimated in post processing (offline) by a weighted least squares adjustment (LSA). The core of the LSA is the bundle adjustment of images. It is extended by additional geometric constraints which exploit the geometric relations between the rail track, the rail vehicle, and the camera trajectory. As a consequence, in contrast to many related methods, the rails need not to be visible in the images to map the rail track. We applied the method to reconstruct a 13 km long tram line in Vienna (Austria). We found that the local geometry of the track can be well reconstructed from the image sequence. However, if the low-cost GNSS receiver is used as single georeferencing source, the track shows a strong drift behavior. This drift can significantly be minimized over the entire track if the above mentioned optional data inputs are used.
