[Termes IGN] vitesse de déplacementRésumé : (auteur) Residents’ trajectory data denote their instantaneous locations along their movements. Mobility research that applies trajectory mining techniques to identify the transportation modes of these movements can inform urban transportation planning. Herein, we propose a five-step approach with information entropy and a multi-layer neural network to identify transportation modes from trajectory data. First, this approach extracts the motion features at each time-stamped location based on foundation geospatial data and spatiotemporal trajectory data, including the speed, acceleration, change of direction, rate of change in direction, and distance from each basic transportation facility. The second step uses information entropy to identify the features that play key roles in identifying transportation modes. The third step weighs each attribute in the feature vector consisting of the selected features and normalizes it to prepare it as input data. The fourth step constructs, trains, and tests a multi-layer neural network with seven-fold cross-validation. The final step includes a post-processing method to optimize the identification result. We use F-measure metric to evaluate the performance. Experimental results on a real trajectory dataset show that the proposed approach can identify the transportation mode at each time-stamped location and outperforms existing transportation-mode identification methods in terms of accuracy and stability. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) A recent development in Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technology is integrating multiple SAR satellite data to dynamically extract ground features. This paper addresses two relevant challenges: identification of common ground targets from different SAR datasets in space, and concatenation of time series when dealing with temporal dynamics. To address the first challenge, we describe the geolocation uncertainty of InSAR measurements as a three-dimensional error ellipsoid. The points, among InSAR measurements, which have error ellipsoids with a positive cross volume are identified as tie-point pairs representing common ground objects from multiple SAR datasets. The cross volumes are calculated using Monte Carlo methods and serve as weights to achieve the equivalent deformation time series. To address the second challenge, the deformation time series model for each tie-point pair is estimated using probabilistic methods, where potential deformation models are efficiently tested and evaluated. As an application, we integrated two Radarsat-2 datasets in Standard and Extra-Fine modes to map the subsidence of the west of the Netherlands between 2010 and 2017. We identified 18128 tie-point pairs, 5 intersection types of error ellipsoids, 5 deformation models, and constructed their long-term deformation time series. The detected maximum mean subsidence velocity in Line-Of-Sight direction is up to 15 . We conclude that our method removes limitations that exist in single-viewing-geometry SAR when integrating multiple SAR data. In particular, the proposed time-series modeling method is useful to achieve a long-term deformation time series of multiple datasets. [Termes IGN] transport publicRésumé : (auteur) Light rail transit (LRT), an essential urban public transport system in China, significantly reshaped the urban land-use (LU) pattern. Although the LRT impact and land-use change (LUC) analysis plays an essential role in urban planning policy, the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of LRT impacts have not been considered in LUC simulation studies. This study simulates the urban LU change, considering the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of LRT construction impacts on urban LUC. LUC from 1995 to 2005 in Nanjing, China, is chosen as a case study. At first, the distance decay function is employed to verify the quantitative impact of LRT construction on LU change. Accordingly, the variation trends of each LU type during different stages are described in time and space. A cellular automata model incorporated by the generated LRT impact is established and then implemented for simulation. According to model performance assessment results, the proposed model can produce a realistic urban pattern with Freedom of Movement (FoM) exceeding 24% and a significantly lower relative error than the CA simulation without considering LRT influence. Improved understanding of human interactions in spatial, temporal, and social dimensions are highly beneficial for research and practices in public health, urban planning, and other fields. Traditional methods of collecting social interaction data are time-intensive and resource-consuming, resulting in relatively small sample sizes and limited information. Furthermore, traditional methods often oversimplify the dynamics of human interactions and fail to capture the characteristics of places where the interactions occur. With the popularity of location-based social media (LBSM) platforms, people can publish information about their social events such as time, location, and other participants. This research introduces a framework that formalizes terminologies and concepts related to spatial-social connections for the construction of spatial-social networks from LBSM data in GIS. Supported by the framework, the study presents methods of collecting, analyzing, and visualizing LBSM data in spatial-social dimensions. The methods are implemented and tested in a case study with Facebook data. The case study demonstrates that location-based social media data can be transformed into spatial-social networks and then be analyzed and visualized to answer innovative types of scientific inquiries. [Termes IGN] vapeur d'eauRésumé : (Auteur) A new algorithm of retrieving atmospheric water vapor from MODIS near-infrared (IR) (NIR) data by using a regression fitting method based on Global Positioning System (GPS)-derived water vapor is developed in this work. The algorithm has been used to retrieve total column water vapor from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellites both Terra and Aqua under cloud-free conditions from solar radiation in the NIR channels. Water vapor data estimated from GPS observations recorded from 2003 to 2017 by the SuomiNet GPS network over the western North America are used as ground truth references. The GPS stations were classified into six subsets based on the surface types adopted from MCD12Q1 IGBP legend. The differences in surface types are considered in the regression fitting procedure, thus different regression functions are trained for different surface types. Thus, the wet bias in the operational MODIS water vapor products has been significantly reduced. Water vapor retrieved from each of the three absorption channels and the weighted water vapor of combined three absorption channels are analyzed. Validation shows that the weighted water vapor performs better than the single-channel results. Compared to the MODIS/Terra water vapor products, the RMSE has been reduced by 50.78% to 2.229 mm using the two-channel ratio transmittance method and has been reduced by 53.06% to 2.126 mm using the three-channel ratio transmittance method. Compared to the MODIS/Aqua water vapor products, the RMSE has been reduced by 45.54% to 2.423 mm using the two-channel ratio transmittance method and has been reduced by 45.34% to 2.432 mm using the three-channel ratio transmittance method.
