Industry, government, institutions, and the public-at-large are all suddenly faced with the problem of assessing heat loss - often over large geographical areas and with limited resources. Infrared remote sensing technology is proving to be a graphic and relatively inexpensive means of obtaining such information. However, this technology is somewhat new and many potential users of infrared sensing find themselves confronted with unfamiliar jargon, a broad array of equipment and service choices, and a host of capability claims.
The objective of THERMOSENSE I was to initiate a dialogue between thermal infrared remote sensing "technologists" and "users" to assess both the capabilities and the limitations of applying thermal sensing techniques in energy conservation programs.Note de contenu : Session 1 - Basic Principles of Detecting Building Heat Loss Via Thermal Infrared Sensing
