[Termes IGN] toitRésumé : (auteur) 3D building models, being the main part of a digital city scene, are essential to all applications related to human activities in urban environments. The development of range sensors and Multi-View Stereo (MVS) technology facilitates our ability to automatically reconstruct level of details 2 (LoD2) models of buildings. However, because of the high complexity of building structures, no fully automatic system is currently available for producing building models. In order to simplify the problem, a lot of research focuses only on particular buildings shapes, and relatively simple ones. In this paper, we analyze the property of topology graphs of object surfaces, and find that roof topology graphs have three basic elements: loose nodes, loose edges, and minimum cycles. These elements have interesting physical meanings: a loose node is a building with one roof face; a loose edge is a ridge line between two roof faces whose end points are not defined by a third roof face; and a minimum cycle represents a roof corner of a building. Building primitives, which introduce building shape knowledge, are defined according to these three basic elements. Then all buildings can be represented by combining such building primitives. The building parts are searched according to the predefined building primitives, reconstructed independently, and grouped into a complete building model in a CSG-style. The shape knowledge is inferred via the building primitives and used as constraints to improve the building models, in which all roof parameters are simultaneously adjusted. Experiments show the flexibility of building primitives in both lidar point cloud and stereo point cloud. [Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (auteur) This paper introduces a model of an aggregated graph suitable to study dynamics of city street networks, and a method to build it. Using temporal pattern detection, it allows detecting inconsistencies in historical spatial networks attributable mainly to old maps themselves, without ground truth data but by comparing each data with each other, and helps to take into account their imperfections such as differences in levels of detail, incompleteness, fuzzy temporalisation, geometric inaccuracies and so on, in the objective of performing further spatio-temporal analyses with corrected data. Our model is applied on Paris old street network at five different temporalities. [Termes IGN] topologieRésumé : (Auteur) The snake algorithm has been proposed to solve many remote sensing and computer vision problems such as object segmentation, surface reconstruction, and object tracking. This paper introduces a framework for 3-D building model construction from LIDAR data based on the snake algorithm. It consists of nonterrain object identification, building and tree separation, building topology extraction, and adjustment by the snake algorithm. The challenging task in applying the snake algorithm to building topology adjustment is to find the global minima of energy functions derived for 2-D building topology. The traditional snake algorithm uses dynamic programming for computing the global minima of energy functions which is limited to snake problems with 1-D topology (i.e., a contour) and cannot handle problems with 2-D topology. In this paper, we have extended the dynamic programming method to address the snake problems with a 2-D planar topology using a novel graph reduction technique. Given a planar snake, a set of reduction operations is defined and used to simplify the graph of the planar snake into a set of isolated vertices while retaining the minimal energy of the graph. Another challenging task for 3-D building model reconstruction is how to enforce different kinds of geometric constraints during building topology refinement. This framework proposed two energy functions, deviation and direction energy functions, to enforce multiple geometric constraints on 2-D topology refinement naturally and efficiently. To examine the effectiveness of the framework, the framework has been applied on different data sets to construct 3-D building models from airborne LIDAR data. The results demonstrate that the proposed snake algorithm successfully found the global optima in polynomial time for all of the building topologies and generated satisfactory 3-D models for most of the buildings in the study areas. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) This paper introduces a novel spectral-spatial classification method for hyperspectral images based on extended random walkers (ERWs), which consists of two main steps. First, a widely used pixelwise classifier, i.e., the support vector machine (SVM), is adopted to obtain classification probability maps for a hyperspectral image, which reflect the probabilities that each hyperspectral pixel belongs to different classes. Then, the obtained pixelwise probability maps are optimized with the ERW algorithm that encodes the spatial information of the hyperspectral image in a weighted graph. Specifically, the class of a test pixel is determined based on three factors, i.e., the pixelwise statistics information learned by a SVM classifier, the spatial correlation among adjacent pixels modeled by the weights of graph edges, and the connectedness between the training and test samples modeled by random walkers. Since the three factors are all well considered in the ERW-based global optimization framework, the proposed method shows very good classification performances for three widely used real hyperspectral data sets even when the number of training samples is relatively small. [Termes IGN] synchronisationRésumé : (auteur) Collaborative mapping is different from other collaborative editing systems because of spatial characterization and spatial dependence. Spatial operations on a mapping feature influence that feature and also the neighbouring features. Therefore, conflicts are likely to occur if common features or interrelated features are processed concurrently. For collaborative editing systems, the widely used multiversioning technique enables improved concurrency, which, however, is at the cost of synchronous data consistency. To maintain the synchronous consistency in collaborative mapping, a practical framework called the spatial operation dependence graph is proposed. The features are expressed as graph vertexes, while the dependences among the operations on features are expressed as graph edges. Through maintaining locking statuses of the vertexes, interdependent operations on features are arbitrated according to the temporal order, while independent operations can concurrently proceed. The utility of this framework is demonstrated through a prototype system, Co-Mapping.
