[Termes IGN] triangulation de DelaunayRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, an advanced technique for the generation of deformation maps using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data is presented. The algorithm estimates the linear and non-linear components of the displacement, the error of the digital elevation model (DEM) used to cancel the topographic terms, and the atmospheric artefacts from a reduced set of low spatial resolution interferograms. The pixel candidates are selected from those presenting a good coherence level in the whole set of interferograms and the resulting non-uniform mesh tessellated with the Delauney triangulation to establish connections among them. The linear component of movement and DEM error are estimated adjusting a linear model to the data only on the connections. Later on, this information, once unwrapped to retrieve the absolute values, is used to calculate the non-linear component of movement and atmospheric artefacts with alternate filtering techniques in both temporal and spatial domains. The method presents high flexibility with respect the required number of images and the baselines length. However, better results are obtained with large datasets of short baseline interferograms. The technique has been tested with European Remote Sensing SAR data from an area of Catalonia (Spain) and validated with on-field precise levelling measurements. [Termes IGN] topologieRésumé : (Auteur) A very important class of queries in GIS applications is the class of Knearest neighbor queries. Most of the current studies on the Knearest neighbor queries utilize spatial index structures and hence are based on the Euclidean distances between the points. In realworld road networks, however, the shortest distance between two points depends on the actual path connecting the points and cannot be computed accurately using one of the Minkowski metrics. Thus, the Euclidean distance may not properly approximate the real distance. In this paper, we apply an embedding technique to transform a road network to a high dimensional space in order to utilize computationally simple Minkowski metrics for distance measurement. Subsequently, we extend our approach to dynamically transform new points into the embedding space. Finally, we propose an efficient technique that can find the actual shortest path between two points in the original road network using only the embedding space. Our empirical experiments indicate that the Chessboard distance metric (L,) in the embedding space preserves the ordering of the distances between a point and its neighbors more precisely as compared to the Euclidean distance in the original road network. [Termes IGN] segmentation en régionsRésumé : (auteur) A set of particular subgraphs of a valued graph, called cocoons, is introduced. Within the image segmentation framework, the cocoons represent a model of contrasted regions. It is shown that the cocoons are organized into a hierarchy which is a sub-hierarchy of the one produced by the standard clustering algorithm of complete linkage. This result thus offers a new point of view on what the complete linkage algorithm achieves when it is applied on image data. For segmentation purposes, the hierarchy is built on a region adjacency graph valued with a dissimilarity function. It’s construction is efficient, parameter free, and robust towards monotone transformations of the dissimilarities. It is illustrated that the simplest cut criterion in these hierarchies, based on thresholding an associated ultrametric distance, already produces meaningful segmentations. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (Auteur) GIS applications have recently begun to emerge on the Internet. The management of threedimensional geographic datasets in this distributed environment poses a particularly challenging problem, which highlights the need for a good data representation. This paper presents a new multiresolution data representation: the Wavelet Triangulated Irregular Network (WTIN). Compared to the traditional cellbased Digital Elevation Model (DEM) format and the Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) format, it is more compact and suitable for scalable distributed GIS services. This format is based on the second generation wavelet theory and is specially designed for geographical height field data. The modified Butterfly scheme is used for constructing the wavelet transform. For every point in the geographic surface, only a single wavelet coefficient is used, which makes the final data representation very efficient and easy to compress. Because the transform used in the data representation is a linear filter operation, the computational efficiency is better than other multiresolution data formats for terrain surfaces. Results from numerical experiments on real data are given to demonstrate that the proposed data representation can be efficiently implemented. The results show that the proposed WTIN data format can provide multiresolution data sets, which achieve significant compression while preserving geographical features. The quality is found to be quite acceptable for geographical terrain representation.
