[Vedettes matières IGN] Végétation et changement climatiqueRésumé : (auteur) Urban land used for parking lots can contribute to the effect of overheating, whereas vegetation, especially high growth vegetation (trees), can mitigate this effect. Accordingly, in this paper we propose an algorithm, the inputs to which consist of predetermined parameters of a parking lot's geometry, trees and surrounding buildings, where the shadows help to mitigate the heat. The algorithm optimizes tree locations, aiming to provide maximum overshadowing of the parking lots, while leaving the useable parking area and the parking lot shape intact. The paper focuses on parameterization of elements that are important for this analysis process as well as combinatory calculations. These combinatory calculations are based on solar simulations, which are carried out, and take into account climate and geographical data. The algorithm is applied to several cases, depicting real world examples, as well as those based on design and greening instruction manuals. The results indicate that the tree locations estimated by the algorithm increase parking lot overshadowing, indicating that the algorithm efficiently decreases the negative influence of urban overheating. [Termes IGN] simulationRésumé : (Auteur) Rock-forming minerals (such as feldspar and quartz) can be identified and quantified from thermal infrared (TIR) laboratory spectroscopy using spectral models. This paper uses synthetic airborne TIR spectra to test whether the hyperspectral Spatially Enhanced Broadband Array Spectrograph System (SEBASS) would theoretically be able to detect quartz and feldspar minerals and quantitatively predict mineral modes in felsic igneous rocks. Data from a previous laboratory study were used to simulate TIR spectra with band locations and noise levels of the SEBASS sensor. The quantitative partial least squares regression (PLSR) models from that study were applied to newly created synthetic SEBASS data, and results were compared with the predictions from the previous study. Predicted compositions based on SEBASS band positions are nearly identical (ρ = 0.995) to those based on laboratory resolution. Results are still reliable [prediction errors within 0.4% (absolute)] to the original laboratory PLSR predictions when adding up to 1% noise (about five times the SEBASS noise level) to the synthetic data. Prediction errors rapidly increase when noise levels beyond 1% are used. These results show that SEBASS' spectral resolution, spectral coverage, and signal-to-noise levels are sufficient to quantitatively predict quartz and feldspar amounts, and feldspar compositions with models based on PLSR. Spectral distortions, such as reduced spectral contrast, tilts, and vertical shifts, must be compensated for before these quantitative models are applied. A mean and standard deviation (MASD) normalization is proposed using a set of ground data for compensating systematic errors that are common to all image pixels. [Termes IGN] retard troposphériqueRésumé : (Auteur) The differential ionospheric path delay is a major error source in L-band interferograms. It is superimposed to topography and ground deformation signals, hindering the measurement of geophysical processes. In this paper, we proceed toward the realization of an operational processor to compensate the ionospheric effects in interferograms. The processor should be robust and accurate to meet the scientific requirements for the measurement of geophysical processes, and it should be applicable on a global scale. An implementation of the split-spectrum method, which will be one element of the processor, is presented in detail, and its performance is analyzed. The method is based on the dispersive nature of the ionosphere and separates the ionospheric component of the interferometric phase from the nondispersive component related to topography, ground motion, and tropospheric path delay. We tested the method using various Advanced Land Observing Satellite Phased-Array type L-band synthetic aperture radar interferometric pairs with different characteristics: high to low coherence, moving and nonmoving terrains, with and without topography, and different ionosphere states. Ionospheric errors of almost 1 m have been corrected to a centimeter or a millimeter level. The results show how the method is able to systematically compensate the ionospheric phase in interferograms, with the expected accuracy, and can therefore be a valid element of the operational processor. [Termes IGN] propagation ionosphériqueRésumé : (auteur) This paper proposes an enhanced algorithm to estimate the differential code biases (DCB) on three frequencies of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) satellites. By forming ionospheric observables derived from uncombined precise point positioning and geometry-free linear combination of phase-smoothed range, satellite DCBs are determined together with ionospheric delay that is modeled at each individual station. Specifically, the DCB and ionospheric delay are estimated in a weighted least-squares estimator by considering the precision of ionospheric observables, and a misclosure constraint for different types of satellite DCBs is introduced. This algorithm was tested by GNSS data collected in November and December 2013 from 29 stations of Multi-GNSS Experiment (MGEX) and BeiDou Experimental Tracking Stations. Results show that the proposed algorithm is able to precisely estimate BDS satellite DCBs, where the mean value of day-to-day scattering is about 0.19 ns and the RMS of the difference with respect to MGEX DCB products is about 0.24 ns. In order to make comparison, an existing algorithm based on IGG: Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, China (IGGDCB), is also used to process the same dataset. Results show that, the DCB difference between results from the enhanced algorithm and the DCB products from Center for Orbit Determination in Europe (CODE) and MGEX is reduced in average by 46 % for GPS satellites and 14 % for BDS satellites, when compared with DCB difference between the results of IGGDCB algorithm and the DCB products from CODE and MGEX. In addition, we find the day-to-day scattering of BDS IGSO satellites is obviously lower than that of GEO and MEO satellites, and a significant bias exists in daily DCB values of GEO satellites comparing with MGEX DCB product. This proposed algorithm also provides a new approach to estimate the satellite DCBs of multiple GNSS systems. [Termes IGN] propagation ionosphériqueRésumé : (auteur) Tracking L-band signals of GNSS satellites by radio telescopes became a new observation type in recent years and will be used to improve reference system realizations and links between Earth- and space-fixed frames. First successful test observations were done, with the drawback of being single-frequency only. In order to correct the ionospheric delay by using GNSS phase observations from co-located receivers, the L4R approach was developed. Based on residuals derived by a least-squares processing of the GNSS geometry-free linear combination corresponding corrections could be derived. As a first validation step L4R corrections were applied to GNSS L1 data analysis. Station coordinate repeatibilities at the 1-cm level were obtained for baselines of a few thousand kilometers. Comparing the derived delay corrections to VLBI ionospheric delays for quasars located in same directions, differences with a standard deviation of 2.2 TECU could be achieved.
