With the emergence of global satellite positioning systems, the performance of outdoor positioning has become excellent, but many mass market applications require seamless positioning capabilities in all environments. Therefore indoor positioning has become a focus of research and development during the past decade. It has by now become apparent that there is no overall solution based on a single technology, such as that provided outdoors by satellite-based navigation. We are still far away from achieving cheap provision of global indoor positioning with an accuracy of 1 meter. Current systems require dedicated local infrastructure and customized mobile units. As a result, the requirements for every application must be analyzed separately to provide an individually tailored solution. Therefore it is important to assess the performance parameters of all technologies capable of indoor positioning and match them with the user requirements which have to be described precisely for each application. Such descriptions must be based on a market analysis where the requirements parameters need to be carefully weighed against each other. The number of relevant requirements parameters is large (e.g. accuracy, coverage, integrity, availability, update rate, latency, costs, infrastructure, privacy, approval, robustness, intrusiveness etc.). But also the diversity of different technologies is large, making it a complex process to match a suitable technology with an application. At the highest level, all technologies can be divided into categories employing three different physical principles: inertial navigation (accelerometers and gyroscopes maintaining angular momentum), mechanical waves (i.e. audible and ultra-sound) and electromagnetic waves (i.e. using the visible, infrared, microwave and radio spectrum). Systems making use of the radio spectrum include FM radios, radars, cellular networks, DECT phones, WLAN, ZigBee RFID, ultra-wideband, high sensitives GNSS and pseudolite systems.
This thesis categorizes all sighted indoor positioning approaches into 13 distinct technologies and describes the measuring principles of each. Individual approaches are characterized and key performance parameters are quantified. [Termes IGN] véhicule automobileIndex. décimale : DDMEG Mémoires du Master Développement Durable, Management Environnemental et Géomatique Résumé : (Auteur) Dans le cadre de son récent contrat avec le STIF, la RATP doit continuer à appliquer le système de management environnemental décrit dans la norme ISO14001, aujourd'hui présent dans chaque site de maintenance industrielle des autobus. Conformément à ses objectifs de rendement, elle souhaite également optimiser le fonctionnement de ce système. L'objet du stage a donc été de mettre en place un nouveau système transversal dans le but d'obtenir un certificat ISO14001 unique pour l'ensemble des sites. L'étude d'opportunités de ce projet a été très convaincante auprès du directeur du département de maintenance des autobus car sa mise en place présente de gros avantages financiers et organisationnels. Une fois la décision du lancement du projet prise, des actions ont été planifiées afin de pouvoir obtenir une certification de département le plus vite possible : définir le nouveau système, les nouvelles responsabilités, les nouveaux documents transversaux et indicateurs, etc. Afin de permettre un suivi adapté au fonctionnement multi sites, le directeur a également voté le lancement de la création d'un outil informatique permettant de centraliser les données relatives aux indicateurs de chaque site et de systématiquement avoir une visibilité globale sur la performance de la totalité du département. Visible de presque toute la côte d'Azur, surmontée de deux coupoles qui accrochent le regard et restent mystérieuses pour beaucoup, c'est une installation militaire névralgique, dévoilée ici pour la première fois. Autour de cette pièce maîtresse du dispositif de surveillance du ciel, le Mont-Agel est aussi une zone naturelle préservée, le site d'émission de Monte Carlo Radiodiffusion, un golf prestigieux et un lieu de promenade prisé des riverains. Extrémité sud de la ligne Maginot, son passé, de la préhistoire à nos jours, est riche d'événements et d'anecdotes - comme le tournage du film Les Chevaliers du ciel en 2004 - racontées par un aviateur passionné par ce site. Son statut de zone militaire interdite est conservé et les radars du Mont-Agel veilleront encore longtemps sur le ciel de France. La majorité des droits d'auteur de cet ouvrage sera reversée à la Fondation des oeuvres sociales de l'Air. À cet effet, une équipe de photogrammétrie a été mise en place avec le matériel et le personnel adéquat. Aujourd'hui, les résultats de ce processus de documentation peuvent être analysés avec un recul suffisant pour pouvoir juger du degré de réussite des réalisations, tant au niveau quantitatif -le nombre important de bâtiments documentés qu'au niveau qualitatif par l'amélioration de la qualité de l'information disponible aujourd'hui en comparaison avec l'existant antérieur, et par le développement de méthodes simplifiées qui permettent une utilisation généralisée de ces techniques. Alors que la plupart des recherches actuelles dans le cadre de la photogrammétrie et des techniques connexes tendent à automatiser les processus, on oublie souvent que les systèmes traditionnels de représentation de l'architecture (plans, élévations, coupes, dessinés au trait sur papier, en noir ou en couleur) restent pour le moment les plus utilisés et qu'ils doivent être réalisés par des personnes avec une bonne connaissance de l'architecture et de ses formes de représentation. Nous présentons des expériences de relevés effectués aussi bien dans le cadre de nos recherches sur l'architecture islamique que dans l'enseignement des techniques de relevés pour architectes avec les moyens matériels et les méthodes utilisés dans chaque cas.
