[Termes IGN] simulation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) The future hyperspectral satellite EnMAP (Environmental Mapping and Analysis Program) uses two separate sensors for the acquisition of VNIR and SWIR imagery. Due to their geometric configuration, the SWIR and VNIR instruments map the same positions on the ground with a time delay of 88 ms. Coupled with attitude controller inaccuracies this leads to an estimated co-registration error between SWIR and VNIR higher than the maximum 0.2 pixels designated in the specifications of EnMAP imagery. It is assumed that, by approximating or interpolating the real attitude and geometrically correcting the images, this co-registration error can be significantly reduced. To validate these assumptions, a geometric simulator was developed at the German Aerospace Center DLR which is responsible for the development of the ground segment of EnMAP. The implemented simulator, together with an evaluation of the absolute and relative accuracy, performed using this simulator, are presented in this article. The obtained results demonstrate that the desired co-registration accuracy between SWIR and VNIR imagery can be achieved by using Spline or Chebyshev approximation for the attitude reconstruction but not by using Lagrange interpolation. Examples of mobility data include human daily activities, vehicle trajectories, and animal movements, among others. In this article, we focus on a special type of mobility data, i.e. origin-destination pairs, and present a new approach to the discovery and understanding of spatio-temporal patterns in the movements. Specifically, to extract information from complex connections among a large number of point locations, the approach involves two steps: (1) spatial clustering of massive GPS points to recognize potentially meaningful places; and (2) extraction and mapping of the flow measures of clusters to understand the spatial distribution and temporal trends of movements. We present a case study with a large dataset of taxi trajectories in Shenzhen, China to demonstrate and evaluate the methodology. The contribution of the research is two-fold. First, it presents a new methodology for detecting location patterns and spatial structures embedded in origin-destination movements. Second, the approach is scalable to large data sets and can summarize massive data to facilitate pattern extraction and understanding. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (Auteur) Lately, the cost of HD video camcorders has decreased greatly and the inclusion of an internal hard disk in many models has eased the bother of downloading video clips from cumbersome tape devices. These factors have increased their potential as 3D recording devices and measurement tools for the health monitoring of patients by practitioners. This investigation determined: (1) the 3D measurement quality of off-the-shelf high definition camcorders for human-movement-related medical applications; (2) the suitability of a low-cost LED synchronisation device for multi-camcorder tracking; and (3) the suitability of these imaging sensors for practitioners. The results show that a four-camcorder system is capable of measuring a 3D distance in a static setting to better than 0·050 mm; it can track a moving calibrated square-wave signal of 0·5 and 1 Hz to better than 0·3 and 0·2 mm, respectively. Using a calibrated scale bar mounted on a moving human leg, the error produced as a result of frame disparity using a low-cost LED frame-synchronising device was under 0·3 mm for a four-, three- and two-camcorder configuration. [Termes IGN] qualité d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) When using digital aerial cameras, quality and readability of orthophotos can no longer be specified by forward and side overlap as was the case in the era of analogue aerial surveys. By continuing to use these parameters, we condemn ourselves to inaccurate measurements and poor quality and readability of orthophotos. The author compares the flight planning parameters for nine digital cameras using building leaning, rather than overlap, as the main geometric parameter. [Termes IGN] turbulenceRésumé : (Auteur) A large part of geodetic sensor systems use electromagnetic radiation to determine the measurement values (distances, directions, etc.). The geometry of the path of propagation and the velocity of the electromagnetic wave is strongly influenced by the physical state of the atmosphere. As most geodetic measurements are performed in the lower atmosphere, the study of refraction and of corresponding impact constitutes a key research field. In geodesy, the refractive index represents a common way to describe the terrestrial refraction - the literature refers to different methods for determining this value. Our study presents a method for the determination of the influence of refraction on the basis of optical measurements. The mathematical derivation is based on well-known equations - the combination of different approaches leads to a uniform processing sequence which can easily be implemented. We present the theoretical foundations, details about the implementation and some preliminary tests.
