The evaluation of building patterns is a difficult spatial analysis problem that exhibits properties of symbolization, homogeneity and regularity. Open issues in this field include the development of approaches for representing building patterns and vector-based methods for computing various pattern metrics. In the image analysis domain, there are many methods for pattern recognition (e.g., texture analysis), but there are few corresponding solutions for vector data. The aim of this research is to develop several building pattern metrics and offer a texton co-occurrence matrix (TCM)-based method to quantitatively evaluate the features of building patterns. The procedure first constructs a spatial field based on a Delaunay triangulation skeleton to partition a set of buildings into a set of tessellation cells. The tessellations of building clusters have a similar structure as image representations, in that each cell corresponds to an image pixel. We then use the texton analysis to establish a matrix to describe the tessellation structure, including the neighboring relationships and individual attribute information. Finally, a set of feature descriptors is obtained from the TCM to capture the texture-related information of building groups. Through experiments on building pattern analysis and spatial queries, we show that the results of TCM-based evaluation of building patterns are consistent with those of human cognition. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Irrespective of substantial research in land use/land cover (LULC) monitoring of urban area, hyperspectral data is not yet exploited effectively because of lack of local spectral resources and a practical reflectance calibration method. The objective of this research is to develop an effective methodology for urban LULC classification using image-based reflectance calibration methods: especially Vegetation-Impervious-Soil classes (VIS), using hyperspectral data. We used EO-1 Hyperion image of Pune City, India and assessed the suitability of different land covers as reflectance calibration surfaces. Furthermore, we performed LULC classification using different reflectance calibration methods such as Internal Area Relative Reflectance, Flat Field Relative Reflectance, and 6S for comparative analysis. Urban VIS signatures extracted from Hyperion image show distinct spectral curves at broader level. Flat Field Relative Reflectance method provides above 90 percent average overall accuracy. An advanced physics-based method such as 6S does not provide any added advantage over image-based calibration methods. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) A virtual reality GIS analysis platform based on spatial query is proposed in this paper. The proposed platform serves 3D digital city and supports integrated VRGIS functions including 3D spatial analysis functions and 3D visualization functions for spatial process. The 3D analysis and visualization of the concerned city massive information are conducted on the platform. The amount of information that can be visualized through this platform is overwhelming, and the GIS-based navigational scheme allows great flexibility in accessing different available data sources. A multi-level mixed three-dimensional space index is built for the virtual scene. Multi-task parallel scheduling and pre-scheduling algorithms are designed to support the distribution and query of spatial data. Experiment result indicates that the designed query algorithm improves the performance of the proposed system.
