[Termes IGN] secours d'urgenceRésumé : (Auteur) Many different websites offer the opportunity to share and download landmarks and routes produced by the crowd. Landmarks near to a route or routes passing near to some landmarks may help in the context of mountain rescue. Therefore, it is necessary to identify relevant data sources and to describe their characteristics. In this paper, we set out to explore the potential of crowdsourced data in order to be considered such as data sources in the context of mountain rescue. Thus, our aim is to study the content of different sources to have a better knowledge on how landmarks and routes are mapped, to demonstrate the complementarity of crowdsourced data with respect with authoritative data, and to study the feasibility of defining links between routes and landmarks. The proposed method used integration techniques such as map matching, route construction and data matching. Among the results, the large number of non-matched features proves the richness of crowdsourced data. The matching results generate new semantic rules for both type of landmarks and geometries of route. [Termes IGN] qualité des connaissancesRésumé : (Auteur) In many countries, geospatial data are typically provided by public institutions. Cities have been mapped using such public data. On the other hand, the demand for geospatial data has been diversifying, given the requirements for mapping cities. To respond to demands for new geospatial data, creation of citizen-generated open data and volunteered geographic information (VGI) have recently become popular. However, the quality of such open data and VGI are not always guaranteed. The number of studies on quality assessments of VGI have increased in recent years. The present study aimed to identify OpenStreetMap (OSM), one type of VGI, as well as contributors’ awareness of data quality, and the relationships between their awareness and the positional accuracy of the OSM data contributed by them. The results showed that awareness or lack of the positional accuracy did not affect the quality of the OSM data created by the contributors. These findings suggest that the crowdsourcing approach might not guarantee the data quality of VGI. [Termes IGN] Uttar Pradesh (Inde ; état)Résumé : (auteur) In the present study, random forest regression (RFR), support vector regression (SVR) and artificial neural network regression (ANNR) models were evaluated for the retrieval of soil moisture covered by winter wheat, barley and corn crops. SVR with radial basis function kernel was provided the highest adj. R2 (0.95) value for soil moisture retrieval covered by the wheat crop at VV polarization. However, RFR provided the adj. R2 (0.94) value for soil moisture retrieval covered by barley crop at VV polarization using Sentinel-1A satellite data. The adj. R2 (0.94) values were found for the soil moisture covered by corn crop at VV polarization using RFR, SVR linear and radial basis function kernels. The least performance was reported using ANNR model for almost all the crops under investigation. The soil moisture retrieval outcomes were found better at VV polarization in comparison to VH polarization using three different models. [Termes IGN] web des donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Geographic entities and the information associated with them play a major role in Web‐scale knowledge graphs such as Linked Data. Interestingly, almost all major datasets represent places and even entire regions as point coordinates. There are two key reasons for this. First, complex geometries are difficult to store and query using the current Linked Data technology stack to a degree where many queries take minutes to return or will simply time out. Second, the absence of complex geometries confirms a common suspicion among GIScientists, namely that for many everyday queries place‐based relational knowledge is more relevant than raw geometries alone. To give an illustrative example, the statement that the White House is in Washington, DC is more important for gaining an understating of the city than the exact geometries of both entities. This does not imply that complex geometries are unimportant but that (topological) relations should also be extracted from them. As Egenhofer and Mark (1995b) put it in their landmark paper on naive geography, topology matters, metric refines. In this work we demonstrate how to compute and utilize strict, approximate, and metrically refined topological relations between several geographic feature types in DBpedia and compare our results to approaches that compute result sets for topological queries on the fly.
