[Vedettes matières IGN] Ecologie forestièreRésumé : (auteur) Les auteurs étudient les groupements forestiers, pré-forestiers et pré-steppiques du Maroc Oriental, constitués par Quercus suber, Q. coccifera, Q. rotundifolia, Pinus halepensis et Juniperus phoenicea. Ils s'intègrent dans les unités supérieures déjà définies par Barbero, Quezel et Rivas-Martinez (1981). Sont décrits en particulier un Erico arboreae-Quercetum cocciferae du littoral rifain appartenant à l’Ericion arboreae Rivas-Martinez (1975) 1987, un Cytiso arborei-Quercetum cocciferae présent surtout dans les Béni Snassène. Quercus rotundifolia constitue quatre structures dont deux en bioclimat sub-humide: l’Euphorbio briquetii-Quercetum rotundifoliae Tregubov 1963 sur les Béni Snassène et le Festuco scaberrimae-Quercetum rotundifoliae en particulier sur les monts de Debdou et les massifs voisins, cette dernière individualisant au semi-aride, les sous associations genistetosum durieui et pistacietosum atlanticae au sud du sillon El Aïoun-Oudja. L'Ampelodesmo-Chamaeropetum humilis constitue un stade de dégradation de la chênaie verte, fréquent au nord de Bou Iblane. Pinus halepensis, en dehors de formations de matorral, individualise des structures pré-forestières à Debdou : Coronillo valentinae-Pinetum halepensis et sur le J. Lakhdar : Bupleuro gibraltarici-Pinetum halepensis. Enfin, Juniperus turbinata apparaît avec des structures variées dans la vallée supérieur de l'Oued Melloulou, ainsi que dans la région d'Ahermoumou et constitue diverses sous-associations au sein du Tetraclinido-Juniperetum turbinatae. Les exigences écologiques et dynamiques de ces groupements et, dans la mesure du possible, leur répartition géographique sont précisées.
