[Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) In this study, the main theories, which were proposed in a PhD study completed at the Cartography Division of Istanbul Technical University, were presented. This study aimed to develop new approaches for covering the generalization based map design deficiencies of car navigation systems currently in use. For this purpose, commercial car navigation products were examined depending on the technologies that they used for map design. Optimization of the road network data and determination of the land use information of areal data were considered as the problems to be solved in this study and a route dependant generalization process was proposed to add value of current car navigation systems. This approach covered generalization processes applied on both areal and linear objects for optimizing the data presented at detailed level. Another approach, which determines the geometries of the road network interchanges and classifies them automatically, was also presented in this paper. This classification approach aimed to formalize interchanges efficiently to generalize them depending on the aim of the application. Two different methods that define interchanges mathematically were used in this context. Interchanges were defined as matrices and tree structures depending on the requirements of the navigating user in these methods. [Termes IGN] représentation multiple
[Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (auteur) The use of multiple representations of the same data is a common requirement for several purposes of the implemented geographical information system studies. However these representations should be produced by considering the requirements of the system user. In practice, car navigation process also requires multiple representations as user interfaces of different phases of the navigation process. For such use, the user basically requires interact with well designed maps, which represent the real world as accurately as possible, for succeeding the navigation task comfortably and also easily in an unfamiliar environment. Covering this
requirement is merely possible when generalizing the road data by considering the possible manoeuvres that the user will do while navigating. This study proposes an approach, which aims to increase the accuracy of the navigation maps by designing them depending on the navigation route calculated in navigation process, to succeed in this task.Numéro de notice : C2008-046 Affiliation des auteurs : COGIT (1988-2011) Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Communication nature-HAL : ComAvecCL&ActesPubliésIntl DOI : sans En ligne : https://kartographie.geo.tu-dresden.de/downloads/ica-gen/workshop2008/02_Dogru_e [...] Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=103418 Proceedings of the seminar on teaching conventional and digital map production lines, held at Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, April 11 - 15, 1994 / N.
