[Termes IGN] reliefRésumé : (Auteur) This paper documents resolution dependencies in terrain analysis and describes how they vary across landform location. Six terrain attributes were evaluated as a function of DEM resolution—slope, plan curvature, profile curvature, north–south slope orientation, east–west slope orientation, and topographic wetness index. The research highlights the effect of varying spatial resolution through a spatial sampling/resampling scheme while maintaining sets of indexed sample points at various resolutions. Tested sample points therefore coincide exactly between two directly compared resolutions in terms of their location and elevation value. An unsupervised landform classification procedure based on statistical clustering algorithms was employed to define landform classes in a reproducible manner. Correlation and regression analyses identified sensitive and consistent responses for each attribute as resolution was changed, although the tested terrain attributes responded in characteristically different ways. These responses displayed distinguishable patterns among various landform classes, a conclusion that was further verified by a series of two-sample, two-tailed t-tests. [Termes IGN] valeur radiométriqueRésumé : (auteur) In mountainous areas, the landcover extraction out of orthoimages through semi-automatic classification is limited by several factors (such as large shadow areas, radiometric similarities between different themes, inhomogeneous radiometry among regions of the same class...). Image information is not sufficient to separate the different classes. Nevertheless, good results can be obtained by dividing each landcover class “c” into two subclasses “c in shadow” / “c not in shadow” and introducing external information in the classification process. This information can be an older or more generalized database, geographic knowledge concerning the links between relief and landcover, or prior information concerning shadows. This external knowledge is then interpreted in terms of a priori probabilities and merged with radiometric information from the image in a MAP per region classification process. Besides, the results can also be improved by the use of combinations of channels calculated from the initial image. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (auteur) Many research works in map generalisation concern building and road themes. Several generalisation models, such as an agent-based generalisation model on which this paper focuses, have been designed and applied for these themes and give promising results. Our purpose is to take into account field themes, such as the relief and the land use cover. Many relationships exist between these themes and other objects and should be preserved during the generalisation process. The focus of this work is to design a hybrid generalisation system able to manage both discrete and continuous operations. Thus, we propose a model, called GAEL (for Generalisation based on Agents and ELasticity), which extends the existing agent-based model in order to make the triggering of continuous operations possible. The objects to deform are decomposed into small constrained objects and the points composing the geometry of these objects are modeled as agents. We apply this model to the deformation of fields. Note de contenu : L'EROSION : VERSANTS, COURS D'EAU, APLANISSEMENT

Note de contenu : - Le Mont-Viso
