[Termes IGN] texturageRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents an automatic mosaicking method for generating building facade textures from a monocular close-range digital image sequence. The process begins with the computation of the camera parameters (except the coordinates of the projective center), which are determined by combining vanishing point geometry with constraints of a straight line bundle as well as prior information of parallel lines in object space. The raw images are later rectified for the purpose of eliminating their salient geometric distortion. Next, automatic retrieval of the relevant image segment is implemented using the detecting range variance by means of the histogram of projective differences between the corresponding points for each of the facades from the raw image sequence. A strip model of the least-squares adjustment, which is similar to the strip block adjustment in aerial triangulation, is employed to determine the spatial alignment of each of the image segments in order to generate the facade textures from the relevant image segments. Afterwards, the entire building facade texture is mosaicked by ortho-image generation. Two refining strategies are proposed to optimize the mosaic result. One is refining the mosaic region where corresponding points are difficult to match but plenty of horizontal lines are available, and the constraint of corresponding horizontal lines is introduced to implement this process. The other strategy is to refine the unsatisfactory mosaic region by densifying the corresponding points by means of the spatial alignment of the relevant image segment computed by the strip method. The experimental results indicate that this method is widely applicable and compares well with other reported approaches with regard to automation level and applicability, for uncalibrated images as well as images with large geometric distortions. [Termes IGN] toitRésumé : (Auteur) The integration of lidar data and aerial imagery is a promising approach for accurate building model generation. In this research, lidar data and stereo-aerial imagery are incorporated in the generation of complex polyhedral building models whose rooftops are bounded by straight lines. The process starts by utilizing lidar data for deriving building hypotheses and the initial boundaries of the planar patches constituting the buildings' rooftops. The boundaries of these patches are then refined through the incorporation of stereo-aerial imagery while utilizing 3D geometric and spectral constraints. Precise building boundaries are derived through resolving feature matching problems and fully utilizing spectral information. Finally, an efficient manual mono-plotting procedure is introduced to remove incorrect and add missing boundaries. The performance of the developed procedures is evaluated through experimental results from real data where the correctness, completeness, and accuracy of the derived building models are evaluated through comparison with a manually generated DEM. [Termes IGN] WebSIGRésumé : (Auteur) A quater of the heat generated in our houses is lost through roofs. Replacement of the entire roof is too costly for most homeowners, who would prefer to carry out focused repair work. For this they need to know exactly where the roof is leaking. An in-situ thermal survey is expensive, and thus an unattractive option. Home Energy Assessment Technologies, HEAT, represents software, hardware, data provision and web-portal service that enables free-of charge, automatic assessment of domestic waste-heat footprints by simply clicking on their house in Google maps. [Termes IGN] toitRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a solution framework for the segmentation and reconstruction of polyhedral building roofs from aerial LIght Detection And Ranging (lidar) point clouds. The eigenanalysis is first carried out for each roof point of a building within its Voronoi neighborhood. Such analysis not only yields the surface normal for each lidar point but also separates the lidar points into planar and nonplanar ones. In the second step, the surface normals of all planar points are clustered with the fuzzy k-means method. To optimize this clustering process, a potential-based approach is used to estimate the number of clusters, while considering both geometry and topology for the cluster similarity. The final step of segmentation separates the parallel and coplanar segments based on their distances and connectivity, respectively. Building reconstruction starts with forming an adjacency matrix that represents the connectivity of the segmented planar segments. A roof interior vertex is determined by intersecting all planar segments that meet at one point, whereas constraints in the form of vertical walls or boundary are applied to determine the vertices on the building outline. Finally, an extended boundary regularization approach is developed based on multiple parallel and perpendicular line pairs to achieve topologically consistent and geometrically correct building models. This paper describes the detail principles and implementation steps for the aforementioned solution framework. Results of a number of buildings with diverse roof complexities are presented and evaluated.
