[Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) Using supervised and unsupervised classification on a single image to extract coral reef extent results in missing data and wrong extraction results. To improve the accuracy of coral reef extraction, this study proposes a novel technical framework for automatic coral reef extraction based on an image filtering strategy and spatiotemporal similarity measurements of pixel-level Sentinel-2 image time series. This method was applied to the Anda Reef, Daxian Reef, and Nanhua Reef, China, using 1464 Sentinel-2 images obtained from 2015–2020. Sentinel-2 images were automatically selected considering space, time, cloud cover, and image entropy after atmospheric correction. With the binary classification measurement standard using the digitization coral reef results of the Sentinel-2 images as the true value, the time series established by the modified normalized difference water index demonstrated high robustness and accuracy. Analyzing the time series curves of the coral reef and deep water verified that the spatiotemporal similarity measurement of this framework can stably extract the boundaries of the coral reef. [Termes IGN] questionnaireRésumé : (auteur) Voice-assisted digital maps have become mainstream navigation aids for pedestrian navigation. Although these maps are widely studied and applied, it is still unclear how they affect human behavior and spatial knowledge acquisition. In this study, we recruited thirty-three college students to carry out an outdoor wayfinding experiment. We compared the effects of voice-assisted digital maps with those of digital maps without voice instructions and paper maps by using eye tracking, sketch maps, questionnaires and interviews. The results show that, compared to the other map types, voice-assisted digital maps can help users reach their destinations more quickly and pay more attention to moving objects, thereby increasing the comfort levels of participants. However, the efficiency of voice-assisted maps on route memory tasks does not rival that of paper maps. Overall, the use of voice-assisted digital maps saves time but may reduce pedestrians’ spatial knowledge acquisition. The results of this study reveal the influence of voice on pedestrian wayfinding and deepen the scientific understanding of the multimedia navigation mode in shaping human spatial ability. [Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (auteur) Landslide susceptibility assessment serves as a critical scientific reference for geohazard control, land use, and sustainable development planning. The existing research has not fully considered the potential impact of the spatial agglomeration and dispersion of landslides on assessments. This issue may cause a systematic evaluation bias when the field investigation data are insufficient, which is common due to limited human resources. Accordingly, this paper proposes two novel strategies, including a clustering algorithm and a preprocessing method, for these two ignored features to strengthen assessments, especially in high-susceptibility regions. Multiple machine learning models are compared in a case study of the city of Bijie (Guizhou Province, China). Then we generate the optimal susceptibility map and conduct two experiments to test the validity of the proposed methods. The primary conclusions of this study are as follows: (1) random forest (RF) was superior to other algorithms in the recognition of high-susceptibility areas and the portrayal of local spatial features; (2) the susceptibility map incorporating spatial feature messages showed a noticeable improvement over the spatial distribution and gradual change of susceptibility, as well as the accurate delineation of critical hazardous areas and the interpretation of historical hazards; and (3) the spatial distribution feature had a significant positive effect on modeling, as the accuracy increased by 5% and 10% after including the spatial agglomeration and dispersion consideration in the RF model, respectively. The benefit of the agglomeration is concentrated in high-susceptibility areas, and our work provides insight to improve the assessment accuracy in these areas, which is critical to risk assessment and prevention activities. However, the existing literature on constrained clustering concentrates on spatially explicit constraints, while many constraints in housing market studies are implicit. Ignoring the implicit constraints will result in unreliable clustering results. This article develops a novel framework for constrained clustering, which takes implicit constraints into account. Specifically, the research extends the classical greedy searching algorithm by adding one back-and-forth searching step, efficiently coping with the order sensitivity. Via evaluation on both synthetic and real data sets, it turns out that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing algorithms, even when only the traditional pairwise constraints are provided. In an application to a concrete housing market segmentation problem, the proposed algorithm shows its power to accommodate user-specified homogeneity criteria to extract hidden information on the underlying urban spatial structure. [Termes IGN] vagueRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, the methods retrieving tide and SWH using reflected BeiDou GEO satellite signals are proposed, and a data-driven method is proposed to calibrate sea state bias of the retrieved tide. In addition, an estimator combining multi-satellite observation based on linear unbiased minimum variance (LUMV) is developed to improve the retrieved precision. The B1I signal experiments in Qingdao and Shenzhen show after calibrating sea state influence using the proposed method, the root-mean-square error (RMSE) could fall to 0.40 m from 0.45 m, and compared to the single-satellite observation, the multi-satellite observation based on the LUMV estimator could significantly reduce the RMSE of the retrieved tide to 0.16 m. Shenzhen experiment is also used to evaluate the performance of retrieving SWH and the determination coefficient of 0.60 is obtained. This paper also conducts Monte Carlo simulation and experiment to evaluate the altimetry and measuring SWH precision using reflected B3I signal. The simulated results when SNR is over 5 dB, incoherent averaging number is 10000, and the receiver bandwidth is over 45 MHz, the estimated precision of the delay can reach up ∼0.15 m, and the precision of the normalized area ranges from 0.2 to 0.3 m. The B3I experiment show that compared to B1I signal, when the reflected signal from individual satellite is used, the better precision with the RMSE of 0.25 can be obtained, and when combining the measurements from the three satellites using LUMV estimator, the RMSE reduces to 0.16 m. Further, the precision of 0.12 m can be obtained by calibrating the sea state influence.
