[Termes IGN] transformation de HoughRésumé : (Auteur) Land-based mobile mapping system (MMS) technology provides an innovative way to update geospatial information, characterised by rapid data collection and direct georeferencing. This paper presents a new method for automatically updating large scale maps using sequential MMS imagery. A major component of the technique is the extraction of vertical lines from such imagery through an improved Hough transform and vanishing point classification. These lines are stereomatched using an epipolar constraint and random sample consensus (RANSAC) strategy, with object space positions obtained by photogrammetric intersection. Buildings are recognised based on these vertical lines in conjunction with basic polygon templates, allowing maps to be updated. [Termes IGN] réfractionRésumé : (Auteur) Mapping the human plantar (sole) surface during movement using an optical imaging technique often necessitates the use of a stage made of transparent material so that the human subject's gait can be imaged in a natural way, without obstruction. This research investigates a technique to reduce glass refraction distortion in the captured 3D spatial data. Impurities in the glass produce outliers in the calculated distortion values which were detected using an automated slope gradient technique. A point-based moving averaging technique was utilised to determine the most appropriate distortion correction to replace the removed outliers. The results show that the empirical methods developed provide accurate glass refraction corrections for photogrammetric measurements, highlighted using the 3D foot plantar surface captured during various phases of a person's gait. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) An indirect method for the georeferencing of 3D point clouds obtained with terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) data using control lines is presented. This technique could be used for rapid data acquisition where resources do not permit the use of expensive navigation sensors or the placement of pre-signalised targets. The most important characteristic is the development of a mathematical model based on the principle that the direction vector of the TLS straight line is coplanar with the plane defined by the origin of the TLS system, one endpoint of a control line and the direction vector of the control line in the ground reference coordinate system. The transformation parameters are estimated by minimising the distance between the control lines and their corresponding TLS straight lines. The proposed method was tested using both simulated and real data, and the advantages of this new approach are compared with conventional surveying methods. [Termes IGN] simulationRésumé : (Auteur) Panoramic images have increasingly interesting applications and they are extensively used for cultural heritage documentation and virtual 3D environments. Moreover, it has been proven that they can contain good metric content. This paper describes a state-of-the-art photogrammetric tool based on spherical panoramas. The fundamental photogrammetric equations are reviewed and two real applications are examined in order to illustrate its performance in terms of accuracy and efficiency. As a first step towards the automation of the orientation and restitution process, the epipolar geometry of spherical panoramic images has also been investigated. With a view to its integration in photogrammetric tools, the shape of the epipolar line is studied both in 3D space and as a 2D mapping; the results obtained with simulation data are analysed. [Termes IGN] point d'appuiRésumé : (Auteur) As a generic sensor model, the rational function model (RFM) has been widely used in the geometric processing of optical images, but its application to synthetic aperture radar (SAR) datasets has not been developed sufficiently. In this paper a thorough study of the RFM-based bundle adjustment for the simultaneous positioning of multi-sensor spaceborne SAR imagery is made. Different control point layouts are designed to analyse its accuracy, and block adjustments based on a rigorous model are compared with the RFM. Experiments show that the RFM can attain a similar positional accuracy to the rigorous model and, when ground control points are sparse, the RFM is more stable.
