[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) In recent years, machine learning techniques have been increasingly applied to the assessment of various natural disasters, including landslides and floods. Machine learning techniques can be used to make predictions based on the relationships among events and their influencing factors. In this study, a machine learning approaches were applied based on landslide location data in a geographic information system environment. Topographic maps were used to determine the topographical factors. Additional soil and forest parameters were examined using information obtained from soil and forest maps. A total of 17 factors affecting landslide occurrence were selected and a spatial database was constructed. Naïve Bayes and Bayesian network models were applied to predict landslides based on selected risk factors. The two models showed accuracies of 78.3 and 79.8%, respectively. The results of this study provide a useful foundation for effective strategies to prevent and manage landslides in urban areas. [Vedettes matières IGN] Végétation et changement climatiqueRésumé : (auteur) Net Primary Productivity (NPP) is one of the significant indicators to measure environmental changes; thus, the relevant study of NPP in Northeast China, Asia, is essential to climate changes and ecological sustainable development. Based on the Global Production Efficiency (GLO-PEM) model, this study firstly estimated the NPP in Northeast China, from 2001 to 2019, and then analyzed its spatio-temporal evolution, future changing trend and phenology regularity. Over the years, the NPP of different forests type in Northeast China showed a gradual increasing trend. Compared with other different time stages, the high-value NPP (700–1300 gC·m−2·a−1) in Changbai Mountain, from 2017 to 2019, is more widely distributed. For instance, the NPP has an increasing rate of 6.92% compared to the stage of 2011–2015. Additionally, there was a significant advance at the start of the vegetation growth season (SOS), and a lag at the end of the vegetation growth season (EOS), from 2001 to 2019. Thus, the whole growth period of forests in Northeast China became prolonged with the change of phenology. Moreover, analysis on the sustainability of NPP in the future indicates that the reverse direction feature of NPP change will be slightly stronger than the co-directional feature, meaning that about 30.68% of the study area will switch from improvement to degradation. To conclude, these above studies could provide an important reference for the sustainable development of forests in Northeast China. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (auteur) The sound speed is a key parameter that affects the underwater acoustic positioning and navigation. Aiming at the high-precision construction of sound speed field in the complex marine environment, this paper proposes a sound speed field model based on back propagation neural network (BPNN) by considering the correlation of learning samples. The method firstly uses measured ocean parameters to construct the temperature and salinity field. Then the spatial position, the temperature and the salinity information are used to construct the global ocean sound speed field based on the back propagation neural network algorithm. During the processing, the learning samples of back propagation neural network are selected based on the correlation between sound speed and distance. The proposed algorithm is validated by the global Argo data as well as compared with the spatial interpolation and the empirical orthogonal function (EOF) algorithm. The results demonstrate that the average root mean squares of the BPNN considering the correlation of learning samples is 0.352 m/s compared to the 1.527 m/s of EOF construction and the 2.661 m/s of spatial interpolation, with an improvement of 76.9% and 86.8%. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can improve the construction accuracy of sound speed field in the complex marine environment. [Termes IGN] ville durableRésumé : (auteur) Recently, the severe intensification of atmospheric carbon has highlighted the importance of urban tree contributions in atmospheric carbon mitigations in city areas considering sustainable urban green planning and management systems. Explicit and timely information on urban trees and their roles in the atmospheric Carbon Stock (CS) are essential for policymakers to take immediate actions to ameliorate the effects of deforestation and their worsening outcomes. In this study, a detailed methodology for urban tree CS calibration and mapping was developed for the small urban area of Sassuolo in Italy. For dominant tree species classification, a remote sensing approach was applied, utilizing a high-resolution WV3 image. Five dominant species were identified and classified by applying the Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) approach with an overall accuracy of 78%. The CS calibration was done by utilizing an allometric model based on the field data of tree dendrometry—i.e., Height (H) and Diameter at Breast Height (DBH). For geometric measurements, a terrestrial photogrammetric approach known as Structure-from-Motion (SfM) was utilized. Out of 22 randomly selected sample plots of 100 square meters (10 m × 10 m) each, seven plots were utilized to validate the results of the CS calibration and mapping. In this study, CS mapping was done in an efficient and convenient way, highlighting higher CS and lower CS zones while recognizing the dominant tree species contributions. This study will help city planners initiate CS mapping and predict the possible CS for larger urban regions to ensure a sustainable urban green management system. [Termes IGN] viticultureRésumé : (auteur) In the 21st century, geographic information systems (GIS) have become one of the leading technologies in different sectors for development and planning, particularly in modern agricultural management. Moreover, recent advances in GIS tools and methods have helped decision-makers as well as farmers to find optimal sites for production of different crops. The cultivation of vineyards and grapes is one of the most important agricultural activities in the Al-Sweidaa governorate—Syria, which has been suffering from a decrease in annual productivity in conjunction with an increase in the annual demand for grapes and wine products, particularly in recent decades. Therefore, the aim of this research was to establish a new method for analyzing the optimum regions for economic viticulture production in the Western Slopes of Jabal Al Arab in the Al-Sweidaa governorate by using multi-criteria evaluation (MCE). To this end, a field survey was conducted and a soil sample was collected for physical and chemically analysis, and a 1984–2014 MRm.30-meter resolution dataset of climatic variables for the Al-Sweidaa governorate was set up as well. The results show that suitable areas are concentrated in the higher part of the study area (the eastern part) where climate and soil are favourable, and did not show any relevant limitations. Conversely, the lower part of the study area (the western) has unfavourable climate and soil chemical and physical fertility; therefore grape production is only possible if irrigation is applied and the fertility properties of the soil are improved, particularly the percentage of organic matter and the soil texture.
