[Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) A large-scale survey of a high-voltage substation in the Tver region of Russia, was to be produced at a scale of 1:500, to include high accuracy determination of power line portals and associated features. Using the results of a laser scanning survey, a detailed 3D model of each portal and bearing was also generated. Together with reflectionless tachymeters, utilizing laser scanning technology can greatly improve the performance of a field survey, particularly in such a difficult object-oriented location as the high-voltage substation. [Termes IGN] tachéomètre électroniqueRésumé : (Auteur) Limitations in sampling rate and the detection of outliers impede use of the Robotic Total Station (RTS) for highly dynamic applications. The need to meet such requirements motivated the author to adjust and improve an existing system. Testing proved the feasibility and usefulness of the this prototype in terms of performance, operational functioning and removal of outliers. [Termes IGN] VidéogrammétrieRésumé : (Auteur) A monitoring system that uses applied geomatics techniques, including videogrammetry and terrestrial laser scanning, has been developed in order to investigate the dynamic behaviour of as-built membrane roof structures. To accommodate the problems involved in measuring such roof structures, examples of which include uniform surface texture and unreachable height, the system adopts a non-contact targeting methodology to substitute for traditional control techniques. In-house software was developed for processing the acquired video imagery in order to produce a sequential surface model of the membrane. This paper firstly reports on experiments conducted to demonstrate that the monitoring system was capable of measuring representative test structures with a precision of better than +1 mm. To prove the feasibility and transferability of the system, videogrammetric monitoring campaigns were subsequently performed at a real-world test site where two different types of membrane structure were observed. The sequential 3D surface models that were generated allowed the displacement of the membrane surfaces to be investigated over a period, during which the range of the movement reached over 20 mm. The information acquired from the system is proving to be of great value to structural engineers involved in research and development of such membrane structures. [Termes IGN] surveillance d'ouvrageRésumé : (Auteur) Just a few kilometers offshore in the sunny waters of the Arabian Gulf, the giant dredging and marine contractor of the Netherlands, Van Oord NV, works on the largest project ever undertaken by a single marine contrator : building 'The World'. this massive job, a multi-billion dollar land reclamation effort, will create a 60-square-kiliometer fantasy archipelago of luxury resort islands. One key to making the work cost-effective is high-precision, Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS positioning, RTK dGPS for 'The World' project is enabled by technology from Trimble as well as the Pacific Crest Corporation.
