The basic concept of analysis is a rigorous physical description of the inertial sensors and the platform. The analysis results in error models of the "ESG"-gyros, of the platform "servo-loops" and the fluid-fitted pendulum accelerometers. The anomalous gravity field is modelled by a five state shaping-filter based on a 2nd order Gauss-Markov-Process for the disturbing potential. In comparison to the existing error model of the GEO-SPIN II a large cross-coupling term and a g-drift of the gyros are introduced. The platform "servo-loop" errors consider a mass unbalance of the inner element, friction of the bearings, and the damping of the servo-motors. The error model of the accelerometers is extended by a scalefactor-assymmetry, a cubic scalefactor-error, and a cross-coupling term. Also vibrational effects in the gyros and accelerometers are discussed. After introducing the main system errors, the navigational errors, and the GPS-biases a 31 states Kalman filter is derived. The simulation of the Kalman filter with GPS-updates (delta-ranges, single phase-differences, and phase-rates) results in real-time accuracies o/± 1 to 4 cm in position, ± 0.5 to 1.5 mm/s in velocity and ± 1 to 2-10'5 ra/s2 (1 to 2 mgal) in gravity vector estimation for the integrated GPS/GEO-SPINII system. It is further shown in comparison, that the short-term accuracy of a modern Laser-INS is by factor two worse. In an integrated GPS/GEO-SPIN II system "cycle-slips" can be detected and removed. After a "loss of lock" of up to 35 sec a degradation of accuracy up to 10 cm (halve wavelength) in position may result, which, however, is decreasing again after GPS reception. In the thesis, the investigations on the accelerometers, the platform servo-loops, the anomalous gravity field filter modelling, and on the integration of GPS and INS have general character and, thus, are independent of the inertial system mentioned above. The model parameters for the parameter estimation are defined through a model potential and a reference ellipsoid. The respective model parameters are treated in the estimation process as stochastic prior information. Models for incorporating the prior information into the estimation process as stochastic and dynamic on the one hand and as stochastic but static on the other hand are considered. In order to numerically test the considered procedures two real geodetic networks of differing extents and observational material have been analysed. In particular the consequence of incorrectly treating the gravity field and reference ellipsoid parameters as exact restrictions when they in fact ought to be viewed as stochastic prior information is investigated. The results are analysed against the background of previous adjustments of the test networks, in which the model parameters had however been treated as exact restrictions. Besides confirming the rigour of establishing a local geodetic datum through the integrated analysis of both physical and geometric geodetic observations, the results also underline the significance of incorporating model parameters into the estimation process as stochastic prior information.
