[Termes IGN] sismicitéRésumé : (Auteur) The efficient assessment of convolved hidden Markov models is discussed. The bottom layer is defined as an unobservable categorical first-order Markov chain, whereas the middle layer is assumed to be a Gaussian spatial variable conditional on the bottom layer. Hence, this layer appears marginally as a Gaussian mixture spatial variable. We observe the top layer as a convolution of the middle layer with Gaussian errors. The focus is on assessing the categorical and Gaussian mixture variables given the observations, and we operate in a Bayesian inversion framework. The model is defined to perform the inversion of subsurface seismic amplitude-versus-offset data into lithology/fluid classes and to assess the associated seismic material properties. Due to the spatial coupling in the likelihood functions, evaluation of the posterior normalizing constant is computationally demanding, and brute-force, single-site updating Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithms converge far too slowly to be useful. We construct two classes of approximate posterior models, which we assess analytically and efficiently using the recursive forward–backward algorithm. These approximate posterior densities are used as proposal densities in an independent proposal MCMC algorithm to determine the correct posterior model. A set of synthetic realistic examples is presented. The proposed approximations provide efficient proposal densities, which results in acceptance probabilities in the range 0.10–0.50 in the MCMC algorithm. A case study of lithology/fluid seismic inversion is presented. The lithology/fluid classes and the seismic material properties can be reliably predicted. [Termes IGN] urbanisationRésumé : (auteur) International communication and global cooperation have greatly accelerated the worldwide spread of dengue fever, increasing the impact of imported cases on dengue outbreaks in non-naturally endemic areas. Existing studies mostly focus on describing the quantitative relationship between imported cases and local transmission but ignore the space-time diffusion mode of imported cases under the influence of individual mobility. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive framework at a fine scale to establish the disease transmission network and a mathematical model, which constructs ‘source-sink’ links between the imported and indigenous cases on a regular grid with a spatial resolution of 1 km to explore the diffusion pattern and spatiotemporal heterogeneity of imported cases. An application to Guangzhou, China, reveals the main flow and transmission path of imported cases under the influence of human movement and identifies the spatiotemporal distribution of transmission speed according to the time lag of each source-sink link. In addition, we demonstrate that using individual-based movement data and socio-economic factors to study human mobility and imported cases can help to understand the driving forces of dengue spread. Our research provides a comprehensive framework for the analysis of early dengue transmission patterns with benefits to similar urban applications. [Termes IGN] surface forestièreRésumé : (auteur) Since Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data are capable of distinguishing vegetation from bare earth, these data are used nowadays to produce digital terrain models (DTMs) for forest regions. In this research, raw LiDAR data were filtered using hybrid and slope-based filtering methods and the filtered data were then interpolated using the new modified particle swarm optimisation (PSO) and accordingly the results were compared with those achieved by the other intelligent and conventional interpolation methods. The new modified PSO optimized the polynomial degree for interpolation and found suitable parameters for optimisation. Two data sets from two forest regions in some northern regions of Iran located in Golestan province were selected to compare these methods. Region 1 with dense vegetation and region 2 with grass vegetation. The results indicated that the hybrid filter performed lower RMSE than the slope-based filter. Finally, the DTM with lowest RMSE was obtained using the hybrid filter and the modified PSO interpolation method with RMSE of 6 mm for region 1 (Tavar-kuh) and 61 mm for region 2 (Shastkola River Basin). [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) Registration of terrestrial point clouds is essential for large-scale urban applications. The robustness, accuracy, and runtime are generally given the highest priority in the design of appropriate algorithms. Most approaches that target general scenarios can only fulfill some of these factors, that is, robustness and accuracy come at the cost of increased runtime and vice versa. This paper proposes an object-based incremental registration strategy that accomplishes all of these objectives without the need for artificial targets, aiming at a specific scenario, the urban environment. The key is to decompose the degrees of freedom for the SE(3) transformation to three separate but closely related steps, considering that scanners are generally leveled in urban scenes: (1) 2D transformation with matches from line primitives, (2) vertical offset compensation by robust least-squares optimization, and (3) full SE(3) least-squares refinement using uniformly selected local patches. The robustness is prioritized in the whole pipeline, as structured first by a primitive-based registration and two least-squares optimizations with robust estimations that do not require specific keypoints. An object-based strategy for terrestrial point clouds is used to increase the reliability of the first step by the line primitives, which significantly reduces the search space without affecting the recall ratio. The least-squares optimization contributes to achieve a global optimum for the accurate registration. The three coupling steps are also more efficient than segregated coarse-to-fine registration. Experimental evaluations for point clouds acquired in both a metropolis and in old-style cities reveal that the proposed methods are superior to or on par with the state-of-the-art in robustness, accuracy, and runtime. In addition, the methods are also agnostic to the primitives adopted. [Termes IGN] mission spatialeRésumé : (Auteur) Precise localisation of the Yutu‐2 moon rover plays an important role in path planning, obstacle avoidance and navigating to target features. To provide high‐precision localisation information, a stereo bundle adjustment method using the theory of the unit quaternions is presented for the first time. To improve the precision and robustness of the proposed method, the rover's pose, from a visual odometry technique assisted by an inertial measurement unit and the rotation angles of the mast mechanism, is viewed as a pseudo‐observation. A reasonable weighting strategy and a rational geometric constraint condition of the stereo cameras is also invoked. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method provides more accurate localisation results than either a bundle adjustment alone or a weighted total least‐squares method. The proposed method has been successfully used in Chang'e‐4 mission operations.
