[Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (Auteur) Image matching is a basic task in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing. By using the advantages of the Delaunay triangulation, this paper proposes a novel image matching method. First, neighboring structures of randomly distributed feature points are formed with the assistance of the Delaunay triangulation and its corresponding graph, and the image planes are simultaneously divided into patches of near-regular triangles. Second, two constraints, a photometric constraint and a geometric constraint, are implemented based on the constructed neighboring structures, which incorporate the hierarchical elimination and left-right checking strategies to deliver the influences of outliers on the decision of inliers and ensure the high precision of the final matches. The former utilizes a line descriptor as a second-order photometric constraint, and the latter adopts the spatial angular order (SAO) to achieve a geometric constraint for the calculation of dissimilarity scores between correspondences. In addition, with the constraints between triangles of the refined Delaunay triangulation and its corresponding graph, a match expansion is designed to exploit as many inliers as possible. Finally, a reliable image matching algorithm is proposed by sequentially executing the three constraints for outlier elimination and match expansion. Under comprehensive analysis and comparison with five state-of-the-art algorithms, the performance of the proposed method is verified by using both rigid and non-rigid datasets. The experimental results demonstrate that the Delaunay triangulation is sufficient to construct neighboring structures for the implementation of local photometric and geometric constraints, and the proposed method can achieve good performance in terms of the precision, recall and number of inliers, and provide reliable matches for stereo image pairs with both rigid and non-rigid transformations. [Termes IGN] signal GPSRésumé : (Auteur) This study analyzes the characteristics of GPS tropospheric estimates (zenith wet delays – ZWDs, gradients, and post-fit phase residuals) during the passage of mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) and evaluates their sensitivity to the research-level GPS data processing strategy implemented. Here, we focus on MCS events observed during the monsoon season of West Africa. This region is particularly well suited for the study of these events due to the high frequency of MCS occurrences in the contrasting climatic environments between the Guinean coast and the Sahel. This contrast is well sampled with data generated by six African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analysis (AMMA) GPS stations. Tropospheric estimates for a 3-year period (2006–2008), processed with both the GAMIT and GIPSY-OASIS software packages, were analyzed and intercompared. First, the case of a MCS that passed over Niamey, Niger, on 11 August 2006 demonstrates a strong impact of the MCS on GPS estimates and post-fit residuals when the GPS signals propagate through the convective cells as detected on reflectivity maps from the MIT C-band Doppler radar. The estimates are also capable of detecting changes in the structure and dynamics of the MCS. However, the sensitivity is different depending on the tropospheric modeling approach adopted in the software. With GIPSY-OASIS, the high temporal sampling (5 min) of ZWDs and gradients is well suited for detecting the small-scale, short-lived, convective cells, while the post-fit residuals remain quite small. With GAMIT, the lower temporal sampling of the estimated parameters (hourly for ZWDs and daily for gradients) is not sufficient to capture the rapid delay variations associated with the passage of the MCS, but the post-fit phase residuals clearly reflect the presence of a strong refractivity anomaly. The results are generalized with a composite analysis of 414 MCS events observed over the 3-year period at the six GPS stations with the GIPSY-OASIS estimates. A systematic peak is found in the ZWDs coincident with the cold pool crossing time associated with the MCSs. The tropospheric gradients reflect the path of the MCS propagation (generally from east to west). This study concludes that ZWDs, gradients, and post-fit phase residuals provide relevant and complementary information on MCSs passing over or in the vicinity of a GPS station. Completely destroyed control points were restored using geodetic network adjustment based on terrestrial observations and multi-epoch solution of the Least Mean Square models, and transformed into the original local coordinate system using identical points located on ancient mud-brick structures in former trenches. However, current and past measurements of excavated objects fit almost perfectly. Statistical and empirical tests indicate that the outliers correspond with measurements in harsh desert conditions. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) Objects are formed by various structures and such structural information is essential for the identification of objects, especially for street facilities presented by mobile laser scanning (MLS) data with abundant details. However, due to the large volume of data, large variations in point density, noise and complexity of scanned scenes, the achievement of effective decomposition of objects into physical meaningful structures remains a challenge issue. And structural information has been rarely considered to improve the accuracy of distinguishing between objects with global or local similarity, such as traffic signs and traffic lights. Therefore, we propose a structural segmentation and classification method for MLS point clouds that is efficient and robust to variations in point density and complex urban scenes. During the segmentation stage, a novel region growing approach and a multi-size supervoxel segmentation algorithm robust to noise and varying density are combined to extract effective local shape descriptors. Structural components with physically meaningful labels are generated via structural labelling and clustering. During the classification stage, we consider the structural information at various scales and locations and encode it into a conditional random-field model for unary and pairwise inferences. High-order potentials are also introduced into the conditional random field to eliminate regional label noise. These high-order potentials are defined upon regions independent of connection relationships and can therefore take effect on isolated nodes. Experiments with two MLS datasets of typical urban scenes in Paris and Hong Kong were used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. Nine and eleven different object classes were recognized from these two datasets with overall accuracies of 97.13% and 95.79%, respectively, indicating the effectiveness of the proposed method of interpreting complex urban scenes from point clouds with large variations in point density. Compared with previous studies on the Paris dataset, our method was able to recognize more classes and obtained a mean F1-score of 72.70% of seven common classes, being higher than the best of previous results. In the first stage the sampling units, in both methods, are Bitterlich points where the selection of the trees is proportional to their basal area. In the second stage, sampling units are trees which are a subset of the first stage trees. In the Big BAF method, the probability of selecting trees in the second stage is made proportional to the two BAFs’ ratio, with a basal area factor larger than that of the first stage. In the Point-3P method the probability of selecting trees, in the second stage, is based on the height prediction and use of a specific random number table. Estimates of the forest stands’ volume and their sampling errors are based on the theory of the product of two random variables. The increasing error in the second stage is small, but the total cost of measuring the trees is much smaller than simply using the first stage, with all the trees measured. In general, the two sampling methods are modern and cost-effective approaches that can be applied in forest stand inventories for forest management purposes and are receiving the growing interest of researchers in the current decade.
