[Termes IGN] régression logistiqueRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a new approach for hyperspectral image classification exploiting spectral-spatial information. Under the maximum a posteriori framework, we propose a supervised classification model which includes a spectral data fidelity term and a spatially adaptive Markov random field (MRF) prior in the hidden field. The data fidelity term adopted in this paper is learned from the sparse multinomial logistic regression (SMLR) classifier, while the spatially adaptive MRF prior is modeled by a spatially adaptive total variation (SpATV) regularization to enforce a spatially smooth classifier. To further improve the classification accuracy, the true labels of training samples are fixed as an additional constraint in the proposed model. Thus, our model takes full advantage of exploiting the spatial and contextual information present in the hyperspectral image. An efficient hyperspectral image classification algorithm, named SMLR-SpATV, is then developed to solve the final proposed model using the alternating direction method of multipliers. Experimental results on real hyperspectral data sets demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms many state-of-the-art methods in terms of the overall accuracy, average accuracy, and kappa (k) statistic. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) Airborne light detecting and ranging (LiDAR) systems have been widely used for the fast acquisition of dense topographic data. Regrettably, coordinate errors always exist in LiDAR-acquired points. The errors are attributable to several sources, such as laser ranging errors, sensor mounting errors, and position and orientation system (POS) systematic errors, among others. LiDAR strip adjustment (LSA) is the solution to eliminating the errors, but most state-of-the-art LSA methods neglect the influence from POS systematic errors by assuming that the POS is precise enough. Unfortunately, many of the LiDAR systems used in China are equipped with a low-precision POS due to cost considerations. Subsequently, POS systematic errors should be also considered in the LSA. This paper presents an aerotriangulation-aided LSA (AT-aided LSA) method whose major task is eliminating position and angular errors of the laser scanner caused by boresight angular errors and POS systematic errors. The aerial images, which cover the same area with LiDAR strips, are aerotriangulated and serve as the reference data for LSA. Two types of conjugate features are adopted as control elements (i.e., the conjugate points matched between the LiDAR intensity images and the aerial images and the conjugate corner features matched between LiDAR point clouds and aerial images). Experiments using the AT-aided LSA method are conducted using a real data set, and a comparison with the three-dimensional similarity transformation (TDST) LSA method is also performed. Experimental results support the feasibility of the proposed AT-aided LSA method and its superiority over the TDST LSA method. [Termes IGN] population urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Detailed population information is crucial for the micro-scale modeling and analysis of human behavior in urban areas. Since it is not available on the basis of individual persons, it has become necessary to derive data from aggregated census data. A variety of approaches have been published in the past, yet they are not entirely suitable for use in the micro-scale context of highly urbanized areas, due mainly to their broad spatial scale and missing temporal scale. Here we introduce an enhanced approach for the spatio-temporal estimation of building populations in highly urbanized areas. It builds upon other estimation methodologies, but extends them by introducing multiple usage categories and the temporal dimension. This allows for a more realistic representation of human activities in highly urbanized areas and the fact that populations change over time as a result of these activities. The model makes use of a variety of micro-scale data sets to operationalize the activities and their spatio-temporal representations. The outcome of the model provides estimated population figures for all buildings at each time step and thereby reveals spatio-temporal behavior patterns. It can be used in a variety of applications concerning the implications of human behavior in urban areas. [Termes IGN] qualité des donnéesRésumé : (auteur) The first two Galileo In-Orbit Validation satellites were launched in October 2011 and started continuous signal transmission on all frequencies in early 2012. Both satellites are equipped with two different types of clocks, namely rubidium clocks and hydrogen masers. Based on two test periods, the quality of the Galileo orbit determination based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) observations is assessed. The estimated satellite clock parameters are used as quality indicator for the orbits: A bump at orbital periods in the Allan deviation indicates systematic errors in the GNSS-only orbit determination. These errors almost vanish if SLR observations are considered in addition. As the internal consistency is degraded by the combination, the offset of the SLR reflector is shifted by +5 cm, resulting in an improved orbit consistency as well as accuracy. Another approach to reduce the systematic errors of the GNSS-only orbit determination employs constraints for the clock estimates with respect to a linear model. In general, one decimeter orbit accuracy could be achieved.
