[Termes IGN] précision de la classificationRésumé : (Auteur) Variability in per cell classification accuracy is predominantly modelled with landcover class as the explanatory variable, i.e. with users' accuracies from the error matrix. Logistic regression models were developed to include other explanatory variables: heterogeneity in the 3 x 3 window around a cell, the size of the patch and the complexity of the landscape in which a cell is located. It was found that per cell, the probability of correct classification was significantly (a = 0.05) higher for cells with a less heterogeneous neighbourhood, for cells part of larger patches and for cells in regions with a less heterogeneous landscape. To validate the models, a leave-one-out procedure was applied in which the absolute difference between the actual and the model-estimated number of cells correctly classified was summarized over 55 regions in the Netherlands. The sum of differences reduced from 60.9 to 48.1 after adding the variables 'patch size' and 'landscape dominance' to the land-cover class model. Spatial variability thus modelled therefore led to a substantial improvement in the estimation of the per cell classification accuracy. [Termes IGN] regroupement de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, a three-dimensional (3-D) interferometric synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging method for moving targets is presented. This imaging method is based on the ISAR principle and the simple observation that all scatterers on a moving target move in tandem. The angular motion parameters in the cross-range directions could be estimated using the overall range profile of the moving target. Registration of the respective complex images at the two (or more) interferometric antennas can then be achieved via compensating the respective echoes at the raw data level, thus avoiding phase-unwrapping processing and image-resampling processing as required by conventional methods. Finally, a 3-D image of the moving target can then be reconstructed from the 3-D spatial coordinates of these scatterers. Furthermore, the method works well even for a target moving in heavily cluttered environments. [Termes IGN] positionnement par GPSRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents the results obtained with a new type of spatiotemporal topological dimension implemented within a hypercube, i.e., within a multidimensional database (MDDB) structure formed by the conjunction of several thematic, spatial and temporal dimensions. Our goal is to support efficient SpatioTemporal Exploration and Analysis (STEA) in the context of Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS), the worldwide amateur radio system for position report transmission. Mobile APRS stations are equipped with GPS navigation systems to provide real-time positioning reports. Previous research about the multidimensional approach has proved good potential for spatiotemporal exploration and analysis despite a lack of explicit topological operators (spatial, temporal and spatiotemporal). Our project implemented such operators through a hierarchy of operators that are applied to pairs of instances of objects. At the top of the hierarchy, users can use simple operators such as "same place", "same time" or "same time, same place". As they drill down into the hierarchy, more detailed topological operators are made available such as "adjacent immediately after", "touch during" or more detailed operators. This hierarchy is structured according to four levels of granularity based on cognitive models, generalized relationships and formal models of topological relationships. In this paper, we also describe the generic approach which allows efficient STEA within the multidimensional approach. Finally, we demonstrate that such an implementation offers query run times which permit to maintain a "train-of-thought" during exploration and analysis operations as they are compatible with Newell's cognitive band (query runtime Numéro de notice : A2004-311 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2003.12.002 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2003.12.002 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26838

[Termes IGN] visualisationRésumé : (Auteur) It is common for modern geospatial libraries to contain multiple datasets that cover the same area but differ only in some specific quality attributes (e.g., resolution and precision). This is affecting the concept of content-based geospatial queries, as simple coverage-based query mechanisms (e.g., declaring a specific area of interest) as well as theme-based query mechanisms (e.g., requesting a black and white aerial photo or multispectral satellite imagery) are rendered inadequate to identify and access specific datasets in such collections. In this paper we introduce a novel approach to handle data quality attributes in geospatial queries. Our approach is characterized by the ability to model and learn user preferences, thus establishing user profiles that allow us to customize image queries for improving their functionality in a constantly diversifying geospatial user community. [Termes IGN] théorie de Dempster-ShaferRésumé : (Auteur) This paper deals with iterated belief change. Epistemic states are suitable to represent an intelligent agent's knowledge. Most of the time, when dealing with geographic information, the agent faces incomplete, uncertain, or inaccurate information and needs a mechanism for either revision, update, or fusion to handle their change in beliefs in the presence of new items of information. After some preliminaries on the representation of epistemic states by means of pre-orders, the paper presents three approaches to belief change: revision, update, and fusion. For each of these approaches, the background, postulates, representation by pre-orders, and semantic and syntactic requirements are given. In each case, the approaches are illustrated by examples.
