[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) The provision of webGIS-based water quality data services has become a priority area for both the public and administrative sectors in the context of the pandemic emergency associated with the global spread of COVID-19. Current geographic, monitoring and decision supporting systems, typically based on web-based geospatial information, greatly facilitate the sharing of spatial and temporal data from environmental databases and real-time analyses. In the present study, different water quality indices are determined, compared and geovisualized, during which the changes in the quality of the shallow groundwater resources of a settlement are examined in the period (2011–2019) in an eastern Hungarian settlement. Another objective of the research is to determine three water quality indices (Water Quality Index, CCME Water Quality Index, Contamination degree) and categorize water samples based on the same input spatial and temporal data using self-developed freely available geovisualization tools. Groundwater quality was assessed by using different water quality indices. Significant pollution of the groundwater in the time period before the installation of a sewage network was shown. Regarding water quality, significant positive changes were shown based on all three water quality indices in the years after installing a sewage network (2015–2019). The presence of pollution apart from the positive changes suggests that the purification processes will last for a long time. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (auteur) Terrain derivative calculations from triangulated irregular network (TIN)-based digital elevation models (DEMs) have been extensively explored in geomorphometry. However, most calculation methods focus on the triangulation facets of TIN-based DEMs and ignore the vertices. In fact, these vertices are the original sampling points from the terrain surface and serve as the basis for triangulation. In this study, we argue that terrain derivative calculations using TIN-based DEMs should focus on the vertices. Employing examples with slope and aspect, we applied the TIN vertex-based method to a mathematical surface and a real topography using TIN-based DEMs with a range of sampling point densities. We performed a comparative analysis of the TIN vertex-based, TIN facet-based, and grid-based methods. Assessments on the mathematical surface showed that the TIN vertex-based method achieved the highest accuracy among the three methods. Error analysis for the real landform case indicated that the TIN vertex-based method performed slightly better than the grid-based method for slope calculation and slightly worse than the grid-based method for aspect calculation. Among the three methods, the TIN facet-based method was most sensitive to error. The TIN vertex-based method can provide a reference for the slope and aspect calculation based on point clouds. [Termes IGN] tsunamiRésumé : (auteur) The study of ionospheric disturbances associated with the two large strike-slip earthquakes in Indonesia was investigated, which are West Sumatra on 2 March 2016 (Mw = 7.8), and Palu on 28 September 2018 (Mw = 7.5). The anomalies were observed by measuring co-seismic ionospheric disturbances (CIDs) using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). The results show positive and negative CIDs polarization changes for the 2016 West Sumatra earthquake, depending on the position of the satellite line-of-sight, while the 2018 Palu earthquake shows negative changes only due to differences in co-seismic vertical crustal displacement. The 2016 West Sumatra earthquake caused uplift and subsidence, while the 2018 Palu earthquake was dominated by subsidence. TEC anomalies occurred about 10 to 15 min after the two earthquakes with amplitude of 2.9 TECU and 0.4 TECU, respectively. The TEC anomaly amplitude was also affected by the magnitude of the earthquake moment. The disturbance signal propagated with a velocity of ~1–1.72 km s−1 for the 2016 West Sumatra earthquake and ~0.97–1.08 km s−1 for the 2018 Palu mainshock earthquake, which are consistent with acoustic waves. The wave also caused an oscillation signal of ∼4 mHz, and their azimuthal asymmetry of propagation confirmed the phenomena in the Southern Hemisphere. The CID signal could be identified at a distance of around 400–1500 km from the epicenter in the southwestern direction. [Vedettes matières IGN] ForesterieRésumé : (auteur) Natural regeneration of European beech (Fagus sylvatica) and Norway spruce (Picea abies) plays a crucial role in the future of many European mountain forests. It is affected by various soil and stand-related factors whose relative importance, especially in mixed stands, is still not known. In this study, we assessed the importance of stand composition, soil wetness, disturbances and different microsites and seedbeds for regeneration of beech and spruce in a mixed old-growth mountain forest. We also focused on how the effects of these factors change as regeneration gets older. We sampled all regeneration in 563 plots from different microsite types (deadwood, intact soil, treethrow pits and mounds), distinguishing three seedbeds (mosses, beech litter, bare substrate) for seedlings. We used soil survey and tree census data with generalized linear mixed models and variance partitioning to identify the main factors driving tree regeneration and their relative importance. Although beech was slightly less abundant in the canopy than spruce, it strongly outnumbered spruce in regeneration. Beech regeneration showed an affinity for beech litter-rich microsites and drier soils, while spruce was more common on deadwood and moister soils and its response to the seedbed was microsite-specific. The regeneration of both species was positively related to the proportion of their own species in the canopy, but more so in seedlings than in older regeneration cohorts, where soil wetness was more important. The overall pattern of tree regeneration thus resulted from a complex interplay between site conditions and their alterations by current and former generations of canopy trees through the creation of new microsites (deadwood, uprooting mounds) or litter production. Where beech regeneration is not suppressed by excess soil wetness, it is much more successful than spruce due to its shade tolerance and ability to be established in the beech litter that dominates the forest floor. On the other hand, spruce regeneration is mostly restricted to elevated microsites with lower litter accumulation, such as deadwood and treethrow mounds. Our results indicate that both species exhibit an ability to modify their environment in favor of their own regeneration, but under current conditions, beech is more successful than spruce and can be expected to increase its dominance in the future. Par là, il vise à aider la communauté scientifique mondiale pour étudier le climat et en particulier, le changement climatique. L’étude présente se propose de participer à cet objectif en créant un indice de sécheresse à partir de données d’humidité du sol obtenues par télédétection. Pour ce faire, cette étude adapte un processus existant pour construire un indice de sécheresse standardisé. Ce processus a été implémenté au CLIMERS, il y a peu de temps, pour le VOD et le but est de le tester pour l’humidité du sol et voir à quel point il est adapté pour capturer des événements climatiques extrêmes.
