[Termes IGN] orthophotoplan numériqueRésumé : (Auteur) A software program has been developed to generate true orthophotographs using multispectral and lidar data. To accomplish this, the obscured points were first identified in the acquired conventional orthophotographs. Next, the obscured points were replaced with corresponding unobscured points from the neighbouring orthophotographs. Finally, the resulting orthophotographs were merged into a mosaic. This paper provides insight into the generation procedure, developed methods and results obtained in the course of the creation of the digital true orthophotograph. [Termes IGN] spécification de contenuRésumé : (Auteur) Ordnance Survey is the national mapping agency of Great Britain. We are always developing our product line and are currently investigating the addition of 3D data. In line with our role as a national mapping agency, the approach is to do this, such that any data is part of a coherent range of products that are sympathetic with the terrain and existing 2D topographic data, are of national cover and are maintained. Such intentions create unique challenges to a mapping agency. These challenges include: 1. Specification determination and an appropriate capture methodology. 2. Data modelling and storage of 3D data. 3. Maintenance of the database. 4. Supply of products in a useful format. This paper will discuss those issues most pertinent to the development of a potential 3D product within Ordnance Survey. Subsequently, a better understanding of the complexity of implementing a 3D dataset into a national mapping agency's product portfolio can be achieved. [Termes IGN] Ordnance Survey (UK)Résumé : (Auteur) Current trends, practices and related developments in the use of maps and information about geographic objects are outlined. The need for strategies including the Ordnance Survey GI Strategy, the UK Location Strategy, the Digital National Framework and INSPIRE to be better aligned to meet the growing needs of an information-based economy is discussed. Challenges to this transformation are identified. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) A terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) allows the generation of a detailed model of a landslide surface. In this way, when two or more georeferenced models obtained by multi-temporal scans are available, the landslide displacement field can be computed. Nevertheless, such a computation is a relatively complex task because the recognition of correspondences among the multi-temporal models is required. The Iterative Closest Point (ICP) algorithm allows the alignment of two 3D objects having a common part by iterative shape matching. A new method for the automatic calculation of a landslide displacement field is presented here. It is based on a piecewise application of the ICP algorithm and is made possible by the robustness of this algorithm against noise and small morphological modifications. After a series of numerical experimentations, this method was successfully applied to two test sites located in the North-Eastern Italian Alps affected by high-risk landslides of the slump type (Perarolo di Cadore and Lamosano) with very different observational conditions.
