[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Origin-destination (OD) flow pattern mining is an important research method of urban dynamics, in which OD flow clustering analysis discovers the activity patterns of urban residents and mine the coupling relationship of urban subspace and dynamic causes. The existing flow clustering methods are limited by the spatial constraints of OD points, rely on the spatial similarity of geographical points, and lack in-depth analysis of high-dimensional flow characteristics, and therefore it is difficult to find irregular flow clusters. In this paper, we propose an OD flow clustering method based on vector constraints (ODFCVC), which defines OD flow event point and OD flow vector to express the spatial location relationship and geometric flow behavior characteristics of OD flow. First, the OD flow vector coordinate system is normalized by the Euclidean distance-based OD flow event point spatial clustering, and then the OD flow clusters with similar flow patterns are mined using adjusted cosine similarity-based OD flow vector feature clustering. The transformation of OD data from point set space to vector space is realized by constraining the vector coordinate system and vector similarity through two-step clustering, which simplifies the calculation of high-dimensional similarity of OD flow and helps mining representative OD flow clusters in flow space. Due to the OD flow cluster property, the k-means algorithm is selected as the basic clustering logic in the two-step clustering method, and a sum of squared error perceptually important points algorithm considering silhouette coefficients (SSEPIP) is adopted to automatically extract the optimal cluster number without defining any parameters. Tested by origin-destination flow data in Beijing, China, new traffic flow communities based on traffic hubs are obtained by using the ODFCVC method, and irregular traffic flow clusters (including cluster mode, divergence mode, and convergence mode) with representative travel trends are found. [Termes IGN] transformation de HoughRésumé : (Auteur) Mobile LiDAR systems (MLS) are rapid and accurate technologies for acquiring three-dimensional (3D) point clouds that can be used to generate 3D models of road environments. Because manual extraction of desirable features such as road traffic signs, trees, and pavement markings from these point clouds is tedious and time-consuming, automatic information extraction of these objects is desirable. This paper proposes a novel automatic method to extract pavement lane markings (LMs) using point attributes associated with the MLS point cloud based on fuzzy inference. The proposed method begins with dividing the MLS point cloud into a number of small sections (e.g. tiles) along the route. After initial filtering of non-ground points, each section is vertically aligned. Next, a number of candidate LM areas are detected using a Hough Transform (HT) algorithm and considering a buffer area around each line. The points inside each area are divided into “probable-LM” and “non-LM” clusters. After extracting geometric and radiometric descriptors for the “probable-LM” clusters and analyzing them in a fuzzy inference system, true-LM clusters are eventually detected. Finally, the extracted points are enhanced and transformed back to their original position. The efficiency of the method was tested on two different point cloud datasets along 15.6 km and 9.5 km roadway corridors. Comparing the LMs extracted using the algorithm with the manually extracted LMs, 88% of the LM lines were successfully extracted in both datasets. [Termes IGN] séismeRésumé : (Auteur) The relation between slip at the near surface and at depth during earthquakes is still not fully resolved at the moment. This deficiency leads to large uncertainties in the evaluation of the magnitude of past earthquakes based on surfaceobservations, which is the only accessible evidence for such events. A better knowledge of the way slip distributes over distinct rupture strands within the first few kilometers from the surface would contribute greatly to reduce these uncertainties. The 30 October 2016 Mw6.5 Norcia earthquake has been captured by a variety of geodetic techniques, which provide access to the slip distribution both at depth and at the ground surface, with an unprecedented level of detail for a normal-faulting earthquake. Wefirst present coseismic surface offset measurements from correlation of optical satellite imagesof sub-metric resolution, which are compared to field observations made shortly after the earthquake. Based on a joint inversion of optical data together withInSAR and GPS data, we then propose a rupture model that explains the observations both at far-field and near-field scales. Finally we explore different rupture geometriesat shallow depth, in an attempt to better explain the near-field deformation (i.e. within the first hundreds of meters around the fault)observed at the surface. Despite the fact that the solution is not unique, several lines of evidence suggest that gravity processes could be locally involved, which interfere with the dominant tectonic processes. [Termes IGN] qualité des donnéesRésumé : (auteur) OpenStreetMap (OSM) produces a huge amount of labeled spatial data, but its quality has always been a deep concern. Numerous quality issues have been discussed in the vast literature, while the fitness of OSM for road navigability is only partly explored. Navigability depends on logical consistency, which focuses on the existence of logical contradictions within a data set. Researchers have discussed the insufficiency of established methods and the lack of a computational paradigm to assess the quality of the OSM data. To address the research gaps, the current work extended the capabilities of the Quantum GIS Processing Toolbox for assessment of spatial data. The models and scripts developed are able to assess logical consistency based on geographical topological consistency, semantic information, and morphological consistency. The established and proxy indicators are selected for measuring the logical consistency of OSM data for navigability. For empirical validation, OSM Punjab data are compared with authoritative data from HERE (proprietary) and the Remote Sensing Centre (RSC), Punjab, India. The results conclude that even the proprietary road data sets are not free from logical inconsistencies and data contributed by the masses are credible and navigable. OSM has produced better results than the RSC, but needs more crowd contributions to improve its quality. [Termes IGN] Réunion, île de laRésumé : (Auteur) In the study described here, the capability of space-borne high-resolution L-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images (ALOS-2/PALSAR2 data in StripMap SM1 mode) for deriving and mapping two components of the deformation of slow landslides has been investigated. The deformation characterization was carried out on the basis of sub-pixel correlation offset tracking techniques and differential SAR interferometry. On the Hell-Bourg landslide (located on La Réunion Island, with displacements up to about 1 m/year), the deformation maps produced performed significantly better than the C-band or lower-resolution SAR data used in previous studies. A comparison was carried out with Global Navigation Satellite System data acquired on the test site. Even with a reduced image set (seven acquisitions), detailed deformation maps and information on deformation evolution during 2014–2016 could be generated. The combination of L-band data and high resolution was the source of the improved performance provided by this new kind of data.
