[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) Most of the existing 3D indoor object classification methods have shown impressive achievements on the assumption that all objects are oriented in the upward direction with respect to the ground. To release this assumption, great effort has been made to handle arbitrarily oriented objects in terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) point clouds. As one of the most promising solutions, anchor-based graphs can be used to classify freely oriented objects. However, this approach suffers from missing anchor detection since valid detection relies heavily on the completeness of an anchor’s point clouds and is sensitive to missing data. This paper presents an anchor-based graph method to detect and classify arbitrarily oriented indoor objects. The anchors of each object are extracted by the structurally adjacent relationship among parts instead of the parts’ geometric metrics. In the case of adjacency, an anchor can be correctly extracted even with missing parts since the adjacency between an anchor and other parts is retained irrespective of the area extent of the considered parts. The best graph matching is achieved by finding the optimal corresponding node-pairs in a super-graph with fully connecting nodes based on maximum likelihood. The performances of the proposed method are evaluated with three indicators (object precision, object recall and object F1-score) in seven datasets. The experimental tests demonstrate the effectiveness of dealing with TLS point clouds, RGBD point clouds and Panorama RGBD point clouds, resulting in performance scores of approximately 0.8 for object precision and recall and over 0.9 for chair precision and table recall. [Termes IGN] toitRésumé : (Auteur) This article suggests a new approach to automatic building footprint modeling using exclusively airborne LiDAR data. The first part of the suggested approach is the filtering of the building point cloud using the bias of the Z‐coordinate histogram. This operation aims to detect the points of roof class from the building point cloud. Hence, eight rules for histogram interpretation are suggested. The second part of the suggested approach is the roof modeling algorithm. It starts by detecting the roof planes and calculating their adjacency matrix. Hence, the roof plane boundaries are classified into four categories: (1) outer boundary; (2) inner plane boundaries; (3) roof detail boundaries; and (4) boundaries related to the missing planes. Finally, the junction relationships of roof plane boundaries are analyzed for detecting the roof vertices. With regard to the resulting accuracy quantification, the average values of the correctness and the completeness indices are employed in both approaches. In the filtering algorithm, their values are respectively equal to 97.5 and 98.6%, whereas they are equal to 94.0 and 94.0% in the modeling approach. These results reflect the high efficacy of the suggested approach. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Crowdsourcing is one of the spatial data sources, but due to its unstructured form, the quality of noisy crowd judgments is a challenge. In this study, we address the problem of detecting and removing crowdsourced data bias as a prerequisite for better-quality open-data output. This study aims to find the most robust data quality assurance system (QAs). To achieve this goal, we design logic-based QAs variants and test them on the air quality crowdsourcing database. By extending the paradigm of urban air pollution monitoring from particulate matter concentration levels to air-quality-related health symptom load, the study also builds a new perspective for citizen science (CS) air quality monitoring. The method includes the geospatial web (GeoWeb) platform as well as a QAs based on conditional statements. A four-month crowdsourcing campaign resulted in 1823 outdoor reports, with a rejection rate of up to 28%, depending on the applied. The focus of this study was not on digital sensors’ validation but on eliminating logically inconsistent surveys and technologically incorrect objects. As the QAs effectiveness may depend on the location and society structure, that opens up new cross-border opportunities for replication of the research in other geographical conditions. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) Site index (SI) is a common measure of forest site productivity, serving as a valuable baseline for forest management. The main objective of this study was to develop a SI model for Pinus pinaster Ait. in north-west Spain by combining bi–temporal, low–density airborne laser scanning (ALS) data (acquired in the periods 2009–2011 and 2015–2017) with climatic, edaphic and physiographical data. Site productivity, assessed by site quality curves, was modelled using an age-independent difference equation method based on ALS metrics and environmental variables. For the model development process, we used data from 156 sample plots in pure and even-aged P. pinaster stands distributed throughout Galicia (NW Spain) and measured in the Spanish National Forest Inventory (SNFI). The generalized algebraic difference approach (GADA) formulation was tested by using two different base equations for modelling the dominant height growth (ΔH) from ALS variables. The GADA formulation derived from the Bertalanffy’s base model produced the best estimates of dominant height (H) for P. pinaster stands in Galicia. Use of the proposed model to estimate ΔH for a new pine stand requires two ALS data sets for estimating site-specific (local) parameters. To enable use of the model when such information is not available, the relationship between the values of the site-specific parameter and environmental variables was described using Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS). Use of the MARS equation enabled us to develop spatially-explicit predictive maps of the site-specific parameter values, which can be used together with the GADA model to derive ΔH curves and SI estimates for P. pinaster stands in the whole study region.
