L'apprentissage des bases de la statistique devient dès lors indispensable à tout étudiant qui s'engage dans des études de géographie, comme d'ailleurs d'aménagement, d'urbanisme ou d'histoire. Les statistiques univariée et bivariée ainsi que les techniques simples d'échantillonnage sont abordées dans ce manuel et permettent ainsi une première entrée dans le traitement de données géographiques. Les différentes techniques présentées permettent d'étudier des critères aussi bien qualitatifs que quantitatifs, sur de petits ou grands ensembles. Cet ouvrage de statistique appliquée à la géographie présente l'originalité d'aborder les éléments théoriques au travers d'exemples nombreux, variés et progressifs, relevant tant de la géographie physique que de la géographie humaine. Volontairement pratique, méthodologique et pédagogique, cet ouvrage s'adresse principalement aux étudiants de 1ère et 2ème année de Licence de géographie.
