[Termes IGN] image radar moiréeRésumé : (Auteur) The SuperSAR imaging system, a novel multi-azimuth synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system capable of detecting Earth surface deformation in three dimensions from a single satellite platform, has recently been proposed. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of detecting precise 3-D surface displacement measurements with the SuperSAR imaging system using a point target simulation. From this simulation, we establish both a relationship between the interferometric SAR phase and the across-track displacement and a relationship between the multiple-aperture interferometry phase and the along-track displacement based on the SuperSAR imaging geometry. The theoretical uncertainties of the SuperSAR measurement are analyzed in the across- and along-track directions, and the theoretical accuracy of the 3-D displacement measurement from the SuperSAR system is also investigated according to both the decorrelation and the squint and look angles. In the case that the interferometric coherence is about 0.8 and that five effective looks are employed, the theoretical 2-D measurement precision values are about 3.67 and 6.35 mm in the across- and along-track directions, respectively, and the theoretical 3-D measurement precision values for 3-D displacement are about 4.05, 4.56, and 3.45 mm in the east, north, and up directions, respectively. The result of this study demonstrates that the SuperSAR imaging system is capable of measuring the 3-D surface displacement in all directions with subcentimeter precision. [Termes IGN] Web View ServiceRésumé : (Auteur) Land has an essential role in any society, either as one of the most important capitals of mankind or as a place for people's life and activities. Therefore, registration of ownership and land use rights in a formal system is a major issue. In different countries, Cadastre systems can register extent, rights, restrictions and responsibilities related to land parcels. Many organizations such as municipality, tax and banks need to this information for planning and decision making. Considering the needs for land information by different organizations, access to cadastre data gains a lot of importance. Despite this importance, access to cadastre information encounter with different challenges such as differences in platforms or data structures and access to semantic and geometric data. The main goal of this research is to overcome these challenges and to improve the interoperability in sharing and accessing 3D cadastre data and challenges. This paper investigates capabilities of current 3D Spatial Web Services: WFS, WVS, WTS and W3DS as well as advantages of using these 3D services for access to 3D cadastre data. The authors also combined the legal classes of LADM with geometrical classes of CityGML for transferring the semantic and geometric cadastre data. Finally, some prospects of using 3D Web Services will be illustrated through implementation the scenarios. The most important advantages of using 3D Spatial Web Services in cadastre are on the fly construction and on demand presentation of 3D cadastral model, facilitating of access to legal and descriptive cadastre information, no necessity to user's awareness of data structure in cadastre database and compatibility with different levels of users. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) The automatic analysis of large 3D point clouds represents a crucial task in photogrammetry, remote sensing and computer vision. In this paper, we propose a new methodology for the semantic interpretation of such point clouds which involves feature relevance assessment in order to reduce both processing time and memory consumption. Given a standard benchmark dataset with 1.3 million 3D points, we first extract a set of 21 geometric 3D and 2D features. Subsequently, we apply a classifier-independent ranking procedure which involves a general relevance metric in order to derive compact and robust subsets of versatile features which are generally applicable for a large variety of subsequent tasks. This metric is based on 7 different feature selection strategies and thus addresses different intrinsic properties of the given data. For the example of semantically interpreting 3D point cloud data, we demonstrate the great potential of smaller subsets consisting of only the most relevant features with 4 different state-of-the-art classifiers. The results reveal that, instead of including as many features as possible in order to compensate for lack of knowledge, a crucial task such as scene interpretation can be carried out with only few versatile features and even improved accuracy. [Termes IGN] MozambiqueRésumé : (auteur) Mangrove forests are one of the most productive and carbon dense ecosystems that are only found at tidally inundated coastal areas. Forest canopy height is an important measure for modeling carbon and biomass dynamics, as well as land cover change. By taking advantage of the flat terrain and dense canopy cover, the present study derived digital surface models (DSMs) using stereo-photogrammetric techniques on high-resolution spaceborne imagery (HRSI) for southern Mozambique. A mean-weighted ground surface elevation factor was subtracted from the HRSI DSM to accurately estimate the canopy height in mangrove forests in southern Mozambique. The mean and H100 tree height measured in both the field and with the digital canopy model provided the most accurate results with a vertical error of 1.18-1.84 m, respectively. Distinct patterns were identified in the HRSI canopy height map that could not be discerned from coarse shuttle radar topography mission canopy maps even though the mode and distribution of canopy heights were similar over the same area. Through further investigation, HRSI DSMs have the potential of providing a new type of three-dimensional dataset that could serve as calibration/validation data for other DSMs generated from spaceborne datasets with much larger global coverage. HSRI DSMs could be used in lieu of Lidar acquisitions for canopy height and forest biomass estimation, and be combined with passive optical data to improve land cover classifications.
