[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) Digital 3D capture and reliable reproduction of architectural features is the first and most difficult step towards defining a heritage BIM. Three-dimensional digital survey technologies, such as TLS and photogrammetry, enable experts to scan buildings with a new level of detail. Challenges in the tracing of parametric objects in a TLS point cloud include the reconstruction of occluded parts, measurement of uncertainties relevant to surface reflectivity, and edge detection and location. In addition to image-based techniques being considered cost effective, highly flexible, and efficient in producing a high-quality 3D textured model, they also provide a better interpretation of surface linear characteristics. This article addresses an architecture survey workflow using photogrammetry and TLS to optimize a point cloud that is sufficient for a reliable HBIM. Fusion-based workflows were proposed during the recording of two heritage sites—the Matbouli House Museum in Historic Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and Asfan Castle. In the Matbouli House Museum building, which is rich with complex architectural features, multi-sensor recording was implemented at different resolutions and levels of detail. The TLS data were used to reconstruct the basic shape of the main structural elements, while the imagery’s superior radiometric data and accessibility were effectively used to enhance the TLS point clouds for improving the geometry, data interpretation, and parametric tracing of irregular objects in the facade. Furthermore, in the workflow that is considered to be the ragged terrain of the Castle of Asfan, here, the TLS point cloud was supplemented with UAV data in the upper building zones where the shadow data originated. Both datasets were registered using an ICP algorithm to scale the photogrammetric data and define their actual position in the construction system. The hybrid scans were imported and processed in the BIM environment. The building components were segmented and classified into regular and irregular surfaces, in order to perform detailed building information modeling of the architectural elements. The proposed workflows demonstrated an appropriate performance in terms of reliable and complete BIM mapping in the complex structures. [Termes IGN] toundraRésumé : (auteur) Open access airborne laser scanning (ALS) data have been available in Finland for over a decade and have been actively applied by the Finnish archaeologists in that time. The low resolution of this laser scanning 2008–2019 dataset (0.5 points/m2), however, has hindered its usability for archaeological prospection. In the summer of 2020, the situation changed markedly, when the Finnish National Land Survey started a new countrywide ALS survey with a higher resolution of 5 points/m2. In this paper we present the first results of applying this newly available ALS material for archaeological studies. Finnish LIDARK consortium has initiated the development of semi-automated approaches for visualizing, detecting, and analyzing archaeological features with this new dataset. Our first case studies are situated in the Alpine tundra environment of Sápmi in northern Finland, and the assessed archaeological features range from prehistoric sites to indigenous Sámi reindeer herding features and Second Word War-era German military structures. Already the initial analyses of the new ALS-5p data show their huge potential for locating, mapping, and assessing archaeological material. These results also suggest an imminent burst in the number of known archaeological sites, especially in the poorly accessible and little studied northern wilderness areas, when more data become available. [Termes IGN] UkraineRésumé : (Auteur) Since 2011 an intensive international cooperation has been in place between the Institute for Applied Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics (IAPG) at the Jade University of Applied Sciences in Oldenburg, Germany, and various Ukrainian universities. Following an initial contact by Prof. Gottfried Konecny, the first visit was organized, and was followed by many more. In subsequent years an intensive cooperation was established particularly with the National University for Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) in Kiev. In addition to architects and civil engineers, KNUCA also trains geodesists, geo-information scientists and landscape planners. The cooperation today includes the reciprocal exchange of scientists and students, research projects, courses and cooperation at many other levels. In addition, a commercial company has been established, SPM3D LLC, which now employs more than 14 engineers in the field of 3D acquisition, point cloud processing and modeling. This article summarizes the history of the cooperation and presents the results of associated student projects. In addition, results of joint work on the development of a virtual laser scanner are presented, part of a German-Ukrainian initiative to digitize teaching. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) Site index (SI) is a common measure of forest site productivity, serving as a valuable baseline for forest management. The main objective of this study was to develop a SI model for Pinus pinaster Ait. in north-west Spain by combining bi–temporal, low–density airborne laser scanning (ALS) data (acquired in the periods 2009–2011 and 2015–2017) with climatic, edaphic and physiographical data. Site productivity, assessed by site quality curves, was modelled using an age-independent difference equation method based on ALS metrics and environmental variables. For the model development process, we used data from 156 sample plots in pure and even-aged P. pinaster stands distributed throughout Galicia (NW Spain) and measured in the Spanish National Forest Inventory (SNFI). The generalized algebraic difference approach (GADA) formulation was tested by using two different base equations for modelling the dominant height growth (ΔH) from ALS variables. The GADA formulation derived from the Bertalanffy’s base model produced the best estimates of dominant height (H) for P. pinaster stands in Galicia. Use of the proposed model to estimate ΔH for a new pine stand requires two ALS data sets for estimating site-specific (local) parameters. To enable use of the model when such information is not available, the relationship between the values of the site-specific parameter and environmental variables was described using Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS). Use of the MARS equation enabled us to develop spatially-explicit predictive maps of the site-specific parameter values, which can be used together with the GADA model to derive ΔH curves and SI estimates for P. pinaster stands in the whole study region. [Termes IGN] voxelIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) Incorporating 3D understanding and spatial reasoning into (intelligent) algorithms is crucial for solving several tasks in fields such as engineering geodesy, risk assessment, and autonomous driving. Humans are capable of reasoning about 3D spatial relations even from a single 2D image. However, making the priors that we rely on explicit and integrating them into computer programs is very challenging. Operating directly on 3D input data, such as 3D point clouds, alleviates the need to lift 2D data into a 3D representation within the task-specific algorithm and hence reduces the complexity of the problem. The 3D point clouds are not only a better-suited input data representation, but they are also becoming increasingly easier to acquire. Indeed, nowadays, LiDAR sensors are even integrated into consumer devices such as mobile phones. However, these sensors often have a limited field of view, and hence multiple acquisitions are required to cover the whole area of interest. Between these acquisitions, the sensor has to be moved and pointed in a different direction. Moreover, the world that surrounds us is also dynamic and might change as well. Reasoning about the motion of both the sensor and the environment, based on point clouds acquired in two-time steps, is therfore an integral part of point cloud processing. This thesis focuses on incorporating rigidity priors into novel deep learning based approaches for dynamic 3D perception from point cloud data. Specifically, the tasks of point cloud registration, deformation analysis, and scene flow estimation are studied. At first, these tasks are incorporated into a common framework where the main difference is in the level of rigidity assumptions that are imposed on the motion of the scene or
the acquisition sensor. Then, the tasks specific priors are proposed and incorporated into novel deep learning architectures. While the global rigidity can be assumed in point cloud registration, the motion patterns in deformation analysis and scene flow estimation are more complex. Therefore, the global rigidity prior has to be relaxed to local or instancelevel rigidity, respectively. Rigidity priors not only add structure to the aforementioned tasks, which prevents physically implausible estimates and improves the generalization of the algorithms, but in some cases also reduce the supervision requirements. The proposed approaches were quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated on several datasets, and they yield favorable performance compared to the state-of-the-art.Numéro de notice : 28660 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Thèse étrangère Note de thèse : PhD : Sciences : ETH Zurich : 2021 DOI : sans En ligne : https://www.research-collection.ethz.ch/handle/20.500.11850/523368 Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=99817 PermalinkCorrection radiométrique et recalage de nuages de points pour la reconstruction tridimensionnelle d'oeuvres du patrimoine culturel / Nathan Sanchiz (2021)PermalinkFusion of ground penetrating radar and laser scanning for infrastructure mapping / Dominik Merkle in Journal of applied geodesy, vol 15 n° 1 (January 2021)PermalinkMise en place de nouvelles méthodes d’acquisition par lasergrammétrie en milieu difficile et couvert forestier en vue de la construction d’un parc éolien / Jean-Baptiste Myotte-Duquet (2021)PermalinkModélisation et reconstitution 3D de vestiges du Struthof en relation avec le PCR à partir d’éléments historiques / Yassine Seddik (2021)PermalinkOptimisation des protocoles de numérisation 3D multi-capteurs et de fusion de données hétérogènes au sein de l'entreprise Premier plan / Elisa Gautron (2021)PermalinkRelevé 3D et classification de nuages de points de patrimoine bâti / Arnadi Murtiyoso in XYZ, n° 164 (septembre 2020)PermalinkPlanar polygons detection in lidar scans based on sensor topology enhanced Ransac / Stéphane Guinard in ISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, vol V-2-2020 (August 2020)PermalinkPredicting biomass dynamics at the national extent from digital aerial photogrammetry / Bronwyn Price in International journal of applied Earth observation and geoinformation, vol 90 (August 2020)PermalinkProvably consistent distributed Delaunay triangulation / Mathieu Brédif in ISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, vol V-2-2020 (August 2020)Permalink
