[Termes IGN] séquence d'imagesRésumé : (auteur) In the context of image orientation, it is commonly assumed that the environment is completely static. This is why dynamic elements are typically filtered out using robust estimation procedures. Especially in urban areas, however, many such dynamic elements are present in the environment, which leads to a noticeable amount of errors that have to be detected via robust adjustment. This problem is even more evident in the case of cooperative image orientation using dynamic objects as ground control points (GCPs), because such dynamic objects carry the relevant information. One way to deal with this challenge is to detect these dynamic objects prior to the adjustment and to process the related image points separately. To do so, a novel methodology to distinguish dynamic and static image points in stereoscopic image sequences is introduced in this paper, using a neural network for the detection of potentially dynamic objects and additional checks via forward intersection. To investigate the effects of the consideration of dynamic points in the adjustment, an image sequence of an inner-city traffic scenario is used; image orientation, as well as the 3D coordinates of tie points, are calculated via a robust bundle adjustment. It is shown that compared to a solution without considering dynamic points, errors in the tie points are significantly reduced, while the median of the precision of all 3D coordinates of the tie points is improved. [Termes IGN] points homologuesRésumé : (auteur) A digital elevation model (DEM) is established as an essential geospatial dataset requisite for many topographical and environmental applications. The freely available DEMs have low spatial resolution (SR ≥ 30 m) and comprise considerable vertical errors. The vertical errors are worsened in the undulating and hilly or rugged terrain regions. In this research, we introduced a study to investigate the effect of the noise reduction filters on the accuracy and quality of the DEMs for undulating and hilly terrain regions. The main objectives are to extract a high-quality DEM without collecting physical data like ground control points. DEM generation using de-noised stereo images is carried out using Rational Polynomial Coefficients of Cartosat-1 sensor and Automated Tie Point (ATP) selection. The ATP selection and distribution on the stereo images play a significant role in the DEM accuracy. The present paper also provides information about the optimum number of ATPs used for different topographic conditions. The altitude value of extracted DEM through de-noised stereo images and freely accessible DEMs is compared with reference to the ground truth value of the study region. The 3-D surface profile map of the DEM is used for visual interpretation. This paper investigates and quantifies for the first time the effect of light directionality and fusion of multiple images as a method to improve the quality of photogrammetric 3D reconstruction. For this aim, an image acquisition system that employs multiple light sources was developed to highlight the roughness and microstructures of the object under investigation. Images were captured at various grazing angles to highlight the local surface roughness and microstructures. Individual point clouds, created using images taken at different grazing angles, were produced using dense image-matching techniques. These point clouds were then compared against different 3D photogrammetric reconstructions obtained from a pre-processing of the acquired images based on diffuse lighting, median and average images. Experiments showed that exploiting light directionality significantly improves image-matching quality. Furthermore, depending on the light direction, the root mean square (RMS) error of the 3D surfaces obtained using the proposed system were up to 50% less than those created by traditional diffuse lighting. [Termes IGN] points homologuesRésumé : (auteur) Epipolar rectification of a stereo pair is the process of resampling a pair of stereo images so that the apparent motion of corresponding points is horizontal. This is an important preliminary step in depth estimation, substituting depth by disparity estimation. Most methods rely on a perspective transform of both images, which has the advantage to simulate a different attitude of the pinhole cameras. A limitation is that when an epipole is inside the image domain, it has to be sent to infinity by the perspective transform, producing a strong distortion. On the contrary, relying on a polar transform centered at the epipole provides a method applicable universally to a pair of pinhole camera views. We present in detail the algorithm, filling in the information important for its implementation and missing in published articles. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) A recent development in Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technology is integrating multiple SAR satellite data to dynamically extract ground features. This paper addresses two relevant challenges: identification of common ground targets from different SAR datasets in space, and concatenation of time series when dealing with temporal dynamics. To address the first challenge, we describe the geolocation uncertainty of InSAR measurements as a three-dimensional error ellipsoid. The points, among InSAR measurements, which have error ellipsoids with a positive cross volume are identified as tie-point pairs representing common ground objects from multiple SAR datasets. The cross volumes are calculated using Monte Carlo methods and serve as weights to achieve the equivalent deformation time series. To address the second challenge, the deformation time series model for each tie-point pair is estimated using probabilistic methods, where potential deformation models are efficiently tested and evaluated. As an application, we integrated two Radarsat-2 datasets in Standard and Extra-Fine modes to map the subsidence of the west of the Netherlands between 2010 and 2017. We identified 18128 tie-point pairs, 5 intersection types of error ellipsoids, 5 deformation models, and constructed their long-term deformation time series. The detected maximum mean subsidence velocity in Line-Of-Sight direction is up to 15 . We conclude that our method removes limitations that exist in single-viewing-geometry SAR when integrating multiple SAR data. In particular, the proposed time-series modeling method is useful to achieve a long-term deformation time series of multiple datasets.
