[Termes IGN] photogrammétrie métrologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) A novel, low cost, non-contact, six degrees of freedom (DOF) measurement technique is proposed that enables real-time measurement of a small lightweight module's location. Straight forward applications of the proposed technique include robot calibration by installing the module to the end effector of a robot arm, and head-tracking in a typical virtual reality environment by attaching the module to a human head. The technique is based on a combination of photogrammetry and optical pattern projection. The module generates an optical pattern that is observable on the surrounding walls, and photogrammetry is used to measure the absolute coordinates of features in the projected optical pattern with respect to a defined global coordinate system. By combining these absolute coordinates with the known angular information of the optical projection beams, a minimization algorithm can be used to extract the absolute coordinates and angular orientation of the module itself. Experimental agreement of 1 to 5 parts in 103 was obtained by translating the module over 0.9 m and by rotating it through 60°. Numerical simulations were conducted to demonstrate that optimum design of the projected pattern gives a lower associated measurement uncertainty than is possible by direct photogrammetric measurement with traditional tie points. This paper documents the proof of principle and describes how the measurement can be further improved. [Termes IGN] rayonnement terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) The Earth Radiation Measurement (ERM) instrument onboard FengYun (FY)-3B satellite observes the Earth's atmosphere through a narrow scanning field of view (NFOV) and a wide nonscanning FOV. For each field of view, the measurements are made from two broadband channels: a total waveband channel covering 0.2-50 um and a shortwave (SW) band covering 0.2-4.3 um. The validation to the ERM calibration was carried out by comparing the unfiltered longwave (LW) and SW radiances from ERM with those from Clouds and Earth's Radiation Energy System (CERES) flight model 3 onboard Earth Observing System Aqua satellite. While the ERM LW and SW radiances have a good correlation with CERES data, there is a systemic bias between the two data sets. A spectral correction is made for the ERM data using the CERES data. After the correction, the error of the ERM LW radiance is reduced from -3.00 to -0.60 W/sr · m2. For the SW radiance, the bias is reduced from 6.00 to 4.00 W/sr · m2. Based on the ERM in-orbit calibration data, the stability of the ERM LW radiometric response is analyzed, and it is shown that the gains are stable with a variation of less than 1.5% during its first 9 months in orbit. However, the gains at the SW channels have larger changes and exceed 3%. These drifts might be caused by the detector degradation. Also, the NFOV scanner at the SW channel is no longer working after its 8 months in orbit. [Termes IGN] régressionRésumé : (Auteur) A cross-sensor calibration technique is developed and applied to improve upon the prelaunch radiance calibration and characterization for the Total Ozone Unit (TOU) onboard the FengYun-3/A satellite. The Level 3 products from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) onboard the Earth Observing System Aura are used as input to a radiative transfer model to predict the TOU radiances and characterize the biases for the measurements over the Pacific Ocean in low- and midlatitudes. The coefficients are derived from a regression algorithm to adjust the TOU radiances. It is shown that, after the measurement bias correction, the biases between the retrieved total column ozone products from the TOU with those from the OMI Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS)-Version 8 products and those from a set of ground-based station measurements are 3 % and 5% , respectively. The variations in the estimated total ozone amounts from the TOU are consistent with those derived from Solar Backscatter Ultraviolet Radiometer instruments and OMI for a period from January 2010 to February 2011.
