[Termes IGN] radar à antenne synthétiqueRésumé : (Auteur) The number of commercial space-based and airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems will increase in the next few years. The same is true for 3D Synthetic Aperture Radar systems (Interferometric SAR = IFSAR). This will result in affordable, new types of data. This data may either be used alone or to compliment images, for example from Landsat and SPOT. In some cases, the new data will solve serious data collection deficiencies. This paper describes properties of SAR/IFSAR data. The new data will also need new sophisticated data processing tools. Such a tool, based on an advanced Land Cover classification methodology, is presented.
