[Termes IGN] superpixelRésumé : (auteur) Classification is an important technique for remotely sensed hyperspectral image (HSI) exploitation. Often, the presence of wrong (noisy) labels presents a drawback for accurate supervised classification. In this article, we introduce a new framework for noisy label detection that combines a superpixel-to-pixel weighting distance (SPWD) and density peak clustering. The proposed method is able to accurately detect and remove noisy labels in the training set before HSI classification. It considers two weak assumptions when exploiting the spectral–spatial information contained in the HSI: 1) all the pixels in a superpixel belong to the same class and 2) close pixels in spectral space have the same label. The proposed method consists of the following steps. First, a superpixel segmentation step is used to obtain self-adaptive spatial information for each training sample. Then, a metric is utilized to measure the spectral distance information between each superpixel and pixel. Meanwhile, in order to overcome the first weak assumption, we use K nearest neighbors to obtain the closest neighborhoods of pixels around each superpixel, and a Gaussian weight is employed to mitigate the second weak assumption by adapting the original distance information. Next, the noisy labels in the original training set are removed by a density threshold-based decision function. Finally, the support vector machine (SVM) classifier is employed to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed SPWD detection method in terms of classification accuracy. Experiments performed on several real HSI data sets demonstrate that the method can effectively improve the performance of classifiers trained with noisy training sets in terms of classification accuracy. [Termes IGN] tâche image d'un pointRésumé : (auteur) Combining a hyperspectral (HS) image and a multispectral (MS) image—an example of image fusion—can result in a spatially and spectrally high-resolution image. Despite the plethora of fusion algorithms in remote sensing, a necessary prerequisite, namely registration, is mostly ignored. This limits their application to well-registered images from the same source. In this article, we propose and validate an integrated registration and fusion approach (code available at https://github.com/zhouyuanzxcv/Hyperspectral ). The registration algorithm minimizes a least-squares (LSQ) objective function with the point spread function (PSF) incorporated together with a nonrigid freeform transformation applied to the HS image and a rigid transformation applied to the MS image. It can handle images with significant scale differences and spatial distortion. The fusion algorithm takes the full high-resolution HS image as an unknown in the objective function. Assuming that the pixels lie on a low-dimensional manifold invariant to local linear transformations from spectral degradation, the fusion optimization problem leads to a closed-form solution. The method was validated on the Pavia University, Salton Sea, and the Mississippi Gulfport datasets. When the proposed registration algorithm is compared to its rigid variant and two mutual information-based methods, it has the best accuracy for both the nonrigid simulated dataset and the real dataset, with an average error less than 0.15 pixels for nonrigid distortion of maximum 1 HS pixel. When the fusion algorithm is compared with current state-of-the-art algorithms, it has the best performance on images with registration errors as well as on simulations that do not consider registration effects. [Termes IGN] réductionRésumé : (auteur) In this article, we propose a convolutional neural network with mapping layers (MCNN) for hyperspectral image (HSI) classification. The proposed mapping layers map the input patch into a low-dimensional subspace by multilinear algebra. We use our mapping layers to reduce the spectral and spatial redundancies and maintain most energy of the input. The feature extracted by our mapping layers can also reduce the number of following convolutional layers for feature extraction. Our MCNN architecture avoids the declining accuracy with increasing layers phenomenon of deep learning models for HSI classification and also saves the training time for its effective mapping layers. Furthermore, we impose the 3-D convolutional kernel on the convolutional layer to extract the spectral–spatial features for HSI. We tested our MCNN on three data sets of Indian Pines, University of Pavia, and Salinas, and we achieved the classification accuracy of 98.3%, 99.5%, and 99.3%, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed MCNN can significantly improve classification accuracy and save much time consumption. [Termes IGN] télédétectionRésumé : (auteur) Hyperspectral image clustering is usually used for unsupervised learning in different applications. However, the traditional clustering methods have not been considered the complex relationships among neighbouring pixels. The Albedo and Shading elements can define pixel values in the HyperSpectral Images (HSIs). In HSIs, features are different from each other because of their natural physical characteristics and the physical nature of different image features can be described by the Albedo element. Therefore, in this paper, we generate the natural Albedo feature of the HSIs by applying Albedo recovery step to exploit main information from HSIs. Then, we utilized the Fuzzy C-means clustering method to cluster the natural Albedo dataset. In this paper, we propose a novel accurate Albedo Recovery based Fuzzy C-Means (ARFCM) method to cluster HSIs. In the dataset, each feature vector is processed by the Albedo recovery step to create a new feature vector. This new feature vector can describe the dataset better than the original one. Comparing clustering methods as one of the powerful clustering algorithms are widely used in the remote sensing fields of studying. The experiments conducted on several benchmark datasets demonstrated that the proposed clustering method achieves higher performance than other methods and present the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed method. The results of experiments over different HSI datasets indicated that the proposed method could produce reliable and suitable results compared to the other methods. This shows the robustness of the proposed ARFCM algorithm over the various HSI datasets. Other methods may provide a good response in a given dataset and do not perform well in the other data. Consequently, the ARFCM method, regardless of the study area characteristics and the sensor features, always renders remarkable clustering accuracy. [Termes IGN] rendement agricoleRésumé : (auteur) Rapid and accurate biomass and yield estimation facilitates efficient plant phenotyping and site-specific crop management. A low altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was used to acquire RGB and hyperspectral imaging data for a potato crop canopy at two growth stages to estimate the above-ground biomass and predict crop yield. Field experiments included six cultivars and multiple treatments of nitrogen, potassium, and mixed compound fertilisers. Crop height was estimated using the difference between digital surface model and digital elevation models derived from RGB imagery. Combining with two narrow-band vegetation indices selected by the RReliefF feature selection algorithm. Random Forest regression models demonstrated high prediction accuracy for both fresh and dry above-ground biomass, with a coefficient of determination (r2) > 0.90. Crop yield was predicted using four narrow-band vegetation indices and crop height (r2 = 0.63) with imagery data obtained 90 days after planting. A Partial Least Squares regression model based on the full wavelength spectra demonstrated improved yield prediction (r2 = 0.81). This study demonstrated the merits of UAV-based RGB and hyperspectral imaging for estimating the above-ground biomass and yield of potato crops, which can be used to assist in site-specific crop management.
