[Termes IGN] réseau routierIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) Les systèmes d'information géographiques (SIG) sont aujourd'hui fréquemment utilisés en sciences sociales et notamment en histoire pour leurs capacités de visualisation, de partage et de stockage de données historiques spatialisées. Ils ouvrent ainsi aux chercheurs en histoire des perspectives de croisement d'informations et d'analyse à grande échelle, non seulement de l'évolution de phénomènes spatialisés, mais aussi des interactions entre ces phénomènes et les transformations de l'espace. La représentation d'un espace en transformation au sein d'un SIG implique notamment la création et la manipulation de données spatio-temporelles.Créées à partir des sources d'informations sur l'espace ancien disponibles, celles-ci sont généralement hétérogènes et imparfaites. Les SIG existants ne permettent pas de modéliser et d'intégrer aisément des données hétérogènes et imparfaites au sein de bases de données spatio-temporelles. Cette intégration est l'objectif de notre travail de thèse. Nous proposons une approche d'intégration de données géographiques hétérogènes et imparfaites sur l'espace urbain ancien au sein d'un modèle de données spatio-temporelles permettant l'analyse des transformations de cet espace. Ces données sont saisies à partir de plans topographiques anciens. Au travers de plusieurs étapes, allant de l'analyse des sources cartographiques utilisées à un processus semi-automatique d'intégration de données spatio-temporelles, nous proposons une approche générique permettant d'instancier une base de données spatio-temporelles à partir de cartes historiques. Celle-ci est finalement appliquée à la création d'une base de données sur le réseau des rues de Paris des XVIIIe et XIXe siècles à partir de plans topographiques de la capitale. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationMots-clés libres : visualisation realisme maree lidar stylisation Résumé : (auteur) La région littorale est une zone à enjeux multiples qui favorisent la production de nouvelles données permettant l'amélioration de sa caractérisation, notamment grâce aux relevés LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) pour la génération de Modèle Numérique de Terrain (MNT) à haute résolution. Les verrous actuels se situent sur l’intégration et le rendu de ces données, non seulement pour des questions d’hétérogénéité des données images, vecteurs et LiDAR, mais aussi car les systèmes de visualisations existants ne permettent pas un rendu continu terre/mer en fonction des marées. Nous proposons ainsi d’améliorer la visualisation de la zone littorale par l’intégration homogène de ces nouvelles données afin de représenter de façon plus réaliste les dynamiques de la hauteur d’eau : (1) avec l’utilisation de données plus précises comme le LiDAR, qui permettent de visualiser plus précisément les phénomènes et éléments du littoral et ainsi accentuer le réalisme perçu et (2) en manipulant le réalisme via le photoréalisme des images et les capacités de rendus expressifs dont nous disposons. Nous proposons ensuite plusieurs méthodes de rendu permettant la visualisation de ces données autour de deux cas d’applications de visualisation hybride : LiDAR/carte et LiDAR/ortho-image. [Termes IGN] sémiologie graphiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Cette contribution souhaite montrer l’intérêt des cartogrammes dans l’enseignement de la cartographie et dépasser ainsi la simple capacité à communiquer que l’on prête à ces représentations. Les cartogrammes permettent d’aborder successivement la sémiologie, où ils ont une vraie légitimité, la géomatique, par l’appréhension de nouvelles dimensions de l’espace, et la géographie, par les nouvelles formes spatiales qui interrogent les pratiques spatiales des sociétés. Ces « transformations cartographiques de poids» représentent ce maillon manquant à l’esprit de la «Sémiologie graphique» de J. Bertin, c’est-à-dire le traitement d’une information quantitative en implantation zonale. Le changement d’unité de mesure proposé par les cartogrammes s’avère être une solution conforme à la variation de la taille des points ou de l’épaisseur des lignes. Au-delà de cet aspect sémiologique, les cartogrammes présentent des dimensions inhabituelles de l’espace. La nouvelle unité de mesure de l’espace crée des augmentations ou des réductions des surfaces topographiques. Pour la géomatique, elle est l’occasion d’aborder les notions de topologie. En effet, si la proportionnalité des surfaces à une quantité donnée est la première condition de construction des cartogrammes, elle doit aussi respecter les contiguïtés des entités surfaciques. Cette double condition est alors contraignante, par exemple, pour des cartogrammes de la population. Les recouvrements ou les ruptures entre polygones sont de très bons exemples d’application de règles topologiques garantissant la continuité de l’espace. Ensuite les formes produites par les dimensions de l’espace du cartogramme permettent de découvrir ou redécouvrir des territoires maintes fois traités en enrichissant leurs compréhensions. Elles ouvrent l’enseignement de la géographie sur les sujets de l’urbanisation, des centres de villes, des périphéries, des pratiques spatiales, etc. Ainsi l’enseignement des cartogrammes compose une séquence complète depuis la sémiologie, jusqu’à l’interprétation géographique de ces représentations spatiales en passant par les outils de la géomatique. Ces représentations montrent l’influence de bonnes pratiques en sémiologie graphique sur la connaissance géographique des espaces.
