[Termes IGN] précision millimétriqueRésumé : (Auteur) Wall painting plays an important role in the culture relics of the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, P.R. China. A novel approach of generating a high-resolution orthoimage of the wall painting is proposed. Since the photographic object is nearly flat and also the forward overlap between adjacent images is smaller than 60 percent, the main difficulty to be resolved is the high correlation problem among the unknowns. Improved models of relative orientation and bundle adjustment with virtual constraints have been developed to resolve the high correlation problem. A Voronoi diagram of projective footprints is applied to automatically determine the mosaic lines of ortho-rectified images. The color quality of the generated orthoimage is improved through global minimization of the color differences among overlapped images. The experimental results show that the proposed approach has great potential for conservation of wall paintings with sub-millimeter to millimeter precision. [Termes IGN] sommet (relief)Résumé : (Auteur) The French National Mapping Agency (IGN) plans to renew all the topographic maps at 1:25 000 and 1:50 000 scale. The New Base Map project has been launched in order to produce a flow line for topographic maps from a vector geographic database, and decrease costs of topographic map production. The project aims also to automate the extraction of contour lines, and take advantage of the high-resolution digital terrain model (DTM) data recently available in the agency. These data come from automatic correlation, or they are produced using new sensors (lidar or radar). The high-resolution DTM is a breakthrough to extract cartographic elements such as the cartographic contour lines, the points of mountain pass and the summits. In a precedent paper, we presented a research for producing cartographic contour lines from DTM. Since then, the method has been developed and implemented at the IGN in order to have a production tool for the contour lines. The first part of this paper provides technical details regarding the extraction of contour lines with the problems resolved during the implementation. The second part will introduce our method for extracting the mountain pass and summits from high-resolution DTM. The final section will include the results and summarize the findings. [Termes IGN] volume (grandeur)Résumé : (Auteur) A panoramic, non-metric, Horizont camera has been used for regular, monthly, close-range photography of the rapidly retreating Triglav glacier in Slovenia since 1976. The unfavourable geometry of the convergent images taken from the two camera stations has made any direct stereoscopic observation and recording impossible. The aim of this research was to define the most useful method for acquiring 3D data from these panoramic, convergent images. The Horizont camera was calibrated and three methods were then tested: the generation of pseudo-orthophotographs, the application of 2D clinometry and the interactive orientation of a detailed digital elevation model (DEM) on the images. The third turned out to be the only method suitable for determining the boundary of the Triglav glacier. The interactive orientation of a detailed DEM on the Horizont images is described in detail. The 3D glacier boundary can be acquired from individual Horizont images (camera stations A and B) enabling the computation of the glacier’s area and theoretical volume. By repeating the glacier boundary acquisition for different orientation parameters, the standard deviations of the glacier area and theoretical volume were computed. Because of the more precise average area and volume measurements achieved with the camera station B images, only these were chosen for the glacier disappearance study. Every third year between 1976 and 2005 the Horizont images were used to compute the changes in the area and volume of the glacier. The glacier area was found to have reduced to 8% of its earlier size, from 15 ha in 1976 to 1·2 ha in 2000. However, owing to harsher than average winters since then the decline in the glacier area was found to have slowed in the past decade (2000 to 2009). The glacier’s theoretical volume decreased roughly exponentially from 1976 to 2005 Numéro de notice : A2011-079 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : 10.1111/j.1477-9730.2011.00622.x Date de publication en ligne : 16/03/2011 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1477-9730.2011.00622.x Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=30860
