[Termes IGN] transformation de FourierRésumé : (Auteur) In a context of mobile environment mapping, a vehicle-based radar system, K2Pi, has been developed. A mapping of the environment is carried out from the radar datasets. Given the specificities of radar maps, the main problem at this stage is to find a method to georeference these maps. This article proposes three radar map georeferencing methods. The first method is a typical manual selection of a set of control point pairs. The second method consists of matching the relative trajectory computed by a specific radar algorithm with a trajectory recorded from absolute DGPS recording. Finally, the third method, inspired by the image-to-image approach, is based on Fourier-Mellin transform which automatically registers the radar map with respect to a georeferenced aerial photograph. Successfully tested on radar datasets, this method could be applied to many other types of data. [Termes IGN] seuillage d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) The narrow-band interference (NBI) is a common jamming signal against synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which can degrade the imaging quality severely. This paper proposes a new method for NBI suppression in the data domain based on the independent component analysis (ICA). In this method, echoes contaminated by the NBI are identified in the frequency domain. Next, time filtering and whitening are performed to the identified echoes. Then, the ICA is carried out to decompose the echoes into a series of basis signals, and the jamming components are selected by thresholding. Finally, the NBI is reconstructed and subtracted from the echoes, and the well-focused SAR imagery is obtained by conventional imaging methods. The proposed method copes well with the time-varying NBI with little signal loss. Results of simulated and measured data have proved the validity of the proposed method. [Termes IGN] température de luminanceRésumé : (Auteur) Radiometric measurements could provide continuous information about atmospheric conditions. In this paper, a sky status indicator (SSI) is proposed as a real-time recognition criterion for the detection, in particular, of the presence of rain events along the propagation path. The computation of the SSI is based on ground-based brightness temperature measurements, at 23.8 and 31.4 GHz, collected in Cabauw, Netherlands, in 2009 by the ESA Atmospheric Propagation and Profiling System (ATPROP) multichannel radiometer. A validation analysis is carried out between simulated data, which are computed by applying the radiative transfer equation to a database of radiosonde profiles collected in De Bilt, Netherlands, by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute, and two data sets of radiometric observations at two elevation angles (è equal to 90° and è equal to 69.6°). The analysis based on SSI probability distribution functions has allowed for calculation of the boundary threshold values that are able to discriminate the status of the sky. Furthermore, performances of the SSI were validated against rainfall measurements collected at the ground by a rain gauge located near the ESA ATPROP multichannel radiometer. [Termes IGN] radar à visée latéraleRésumé : (Auteur) The problem of determining a suitable map projection for side-looking synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite imagery is examined. Using a foundation in dynamic mathematics, a new Space Oblique Conic (SOC) projection is proposed that is specifically designed for a side-looking radar imagery. The geometric model of SOC is formalized, and the projection of the central line of a side-looking field of view is established based on this model. The forward and inverse formulas for the SOC projection are derived and the projection's pattern of distortion is discussed. As an example, SEASAT-A radar imagery is considered, and a particular SOC projection model for this satellite derived. [Termes IGN] point d'appuiRésumé : (Auteur) As a generic sensor model, the rational function model (RFM) has been widely used in the geometric processing of optical images, but its application to synthetic aperture radar (SAR) datasets has not been developed sufficiently. In this paper a thorough study of the RFM-based bundle adjustment for the simultaneous positioning of multi-sensor spaceborne SAR imagery is made. Different control point layouts are designed to analyse its accuracy, and block adjustments based on a rigorous model are compared with the RFM. Experiments show that the RFM can attain a similar positional accuracy to the rigorous model and, when ground control points are sparse, the RFM is more stable.
