[Termes IGN] Wuhan (Chine)Résumé : (auteur) Outdated or sketchy inventory of street furniture may misguide the planners on the renovation and upgrade of transportation infrastructures, thus posing potential threats to traffic safety. Previous studies have taken their steps using point clouds or street-view imagery (SVI) for street furniture inventory, but there remains a gap to balance semantic richness, localization accuracy and working efficiency. Therefore, this paper proposes an effective pipeline that combines SVI and point clouds for the inventory of street furniture. The proposed pipeline encompasses three steps: (1) Off-the-shelf street furniture detection models are applied on SVI for generating two-dimensional (2D) proposals and then three-dimensional (3D) point cloud frustums are accordingly cropped; (2) The instance mask and the instance 3D bounding box are predicted for each frustum using a multi-task neural network; (3) Frustums from adjacent perspectives are associated and fused via multi-object tracking, after which the object-centric instance segmentation outputs the final street furniture with 3D locations and semantic labels. This pipeline was validated on datasets collected in Shanghai and Wuhan, producing component-level street furniture inventory of nine classes. The instance-level mean recall and precision reach 86.4%, 80.9% and 83.2%, 87.8% respectively in Shanghai and Wuhan, and the point-level mean recall, precision, weighted coverage all exceed 73.7%. [Termes IGN] vaseRésumé : (Auteur) A remote sensing method combining remote sensing and ground surveying is proposed to extract tidal flat topographic information via the spatial distribution characteristics of tidal flat surface features. Based on the eastern Chongming beach of the Yangtze Estuary and Landsat-5 satellite images, this study identifies the spatial distribution characteristics of tidal flat features using field-based RTK data and spectral data. The remote sensing method for extracting the geometric and physical characteristics of linear and surface geographical elements on tidal flats and the elevation assignment method are discussed. The effectiveness of this method is verified by the quality of the resultant tidal flat DEM. The results show that the use of spatial distribution features in remote sensing images can provide rich topographic information. The DEM results have an accuracy of 0.16 m, are in line with the basic topographic patterns of tidal flats, and can describe local microscale geomorphic features. This technique solves the problem of a single topographic information source in current remote sensing measurement methods and provides technical support for detecting dynamic changes in coastal zones by using remote sensing technology. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (auteur) We develop a new geographical cellular automata (CA) modeling framework, named UrbanCA, through reconstructing the essential CA structure and incorporating nonspatial, spatial, and heuristic approaches. The new UrbanCA is featured by 1) the improvement of the CA modeling framework by reformulating relationships among CA components, 2) the development of two scaling parameters to adjust the effects of transition probability and neighborhood, 3) the incorporation of a variety of statistical and heuristic methods to construct transition rules, and 4) the inclusion of urban planning regulations and spatial heterogeneities to project future urban scenarios. To illustrate the effectiveness of UrbanCA, we calibrate a CA model using artificial bee colony (ABC) to simulate the past urban patterns and predict future scenarios in Shanghai of China. The results show that UrbanCA under different scaling parameters is comparable to CA-Markov (as a reference model) concerning the accuracy of the end-state and change simulations, and is better than CA-Markov regarding the driving factor’s ability to explain the modeling outcomes. UrbanCA provides more choices compared to existing CA software packages, and the models are readily calibrated elsewhere to simulate the dynamic urban growth and assess the resulting natural and socioeconomic impacts. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Some studies have confirmed the association between urban public services and population density; however, other studies using census data, for example, have arrived at the opposite conclusion. Mobile signaling data provide new technological tools to investigate the subject. Based on the data of 20 million 2G mobile phone users in downtown Shanghai and the land use data of urban public service facilities, this study explores the spatiotemporal correlation between population density and public service facilities’ locations in downtown Shanghai and its variation laws. The correlation between individual population density at day vs. night and urban public service facilities distribution was also examined from a dynamic perspective. The results show a correlation between service facilities’ locations and urban population density at different times of the day. As a result, the average population density observed over a long period of time (day-time periodicity or longer) with census data or remote sensing data does not directly correlation with the distribution of public service facilities despite its correlation with public service facilities distribution. Among them, there is a significant spatial correlation between public service facilities and daytime population density and a significant spatial correlation between non-public service facilities and night-time population density. The spatial and temporal changes in the relationship between urban population density and service facilities is due to changing crowd behavior; however, the density of specific types of behavior is the real factor that affects the layout of urban public service facilities. The results show that mobile signaling data and land use data of service facilities are of great value for studying the spatiotemporal correlations between urban population density and service facilities Numéro de notice : A2020-115 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.3390/ijgi9010038 Date de publication en ligne : 13/01/2020 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3390/ijgi9010038 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=94725

[Termes IGN] trace numériqueRésumé : (Auteur) Fine-grained prediction of urban population is of great practical significance in many domains that require temporally and spatially detailed population information. However, fine-grained population modeling has been challenging because the urban population is highly dynamic and its mobility pattern is complex in space and time. In this study, we propose a method to predict the population at a large spatiotemporal scale in a city. This method models the temporal dependency of population by estimating the future inflow population with the current inflow pattern and models the spatial correlation of population using an artificial neural network. With a large dataset of mobile phone locations, the model’s prediction error is low and only increases gradually as the temporal prediction granularity increases, and this model is adaptive to sudden changes in population caused by special events.
