[Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (Auteur) This paper deals with a tentative proposal for the development of a monitoring framework in order to evaluate the vulnerability of a cultural site with respect to various types of hazards. The ultimate purpose of the research is to protect and conserve cultural heritage. In our paper, we investigate procedures for monitoring the long-term behavior of a cultural landscape in order to determine the most appropriate one to deal with such probable natural hazards as seismic events, volcanic eruptions, soil liquefaction, landslides, tsunami, and flooding. [Termes IGN] traitement d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) The recording of digital heritage for posterity and its long term preservation is a burning issue. An event was organised to tackle it. From february 16th -22nd 2009 a series of workshops took place at Truro College (University of Plymouth Colleges), Cornwall, UK. Representatives focused on the application and use of digital technologies within the cultural heritage sector. This article outlines ideas raised and discussed throughout the week, summaries the worshops that took place and concludes with a general overview of the current climate for the digital preservation of cultural heritage. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) The Great Wall of China is one of the largest manmade wonders of the world, comprising many different and irregular structures. We employed airborne Lidar to produce highly accurate digital elevation models (DEMs) to identify areas requiring repair. A terrestrial laser scanner mounted on a tripod was used to improve the terrain model, especially for surfaces covered with dense vegetation. The combined use of airborne and terrestrial laser scanner produced DEMs with accuracies better than 10cm.
