[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) Use of Public Participation Geographic Information System (PPGIS) for data collection has been significantly growing over the past few years in different areas of research and practice. With the growing amount of data, there is little doubt that a potentially wider community can benefit from open access to them. Additionally, open data add to the transparency of research and can be considered as an essential feature of science. However, data anonymization is a complex task and the unique characteristics of PPGIS add to this complexity. PPGIS data often include personal spatial and non-spatial information, which essentially require different approaches for anonymization. In this study, we first identify different privacy concerns and then develop a PPGIS data anonymization strategy to overcome them for an open PPGIS data. Specifically, this article introduces a context-sensitive spatial anonymization method to protect individual home locations while maintaining their spatial resolution for mapping purposes. Furthermore, this study empirically evaluates the effects of data anonymization on PPGIS data quality. The results indicate that a satisfactory level of anonymization can be reached using this approach. Moreover, the assessment results indicate that the environmental and home range measurements as well as their intercorrelations are not significantly biased by the anonymization. However, necessary analytical measures such as use of larger spatial units is recommendable when anonymized data is used. In this study, European data protection regulations were used as the legal guidelines. However, adaptation of methods employed in this study may be also relevant to other countries where comparable regulations exist. Although specifically targeted at PPGIS data, what is discussed in this paper can be applicable to other similar spatial datasets as well. [Termes IGN] toponymie localeRésumé : (auteur) Maps and GIS used for the nomination and subsequent management of UNESCO World Heritage sites have primarily served bureaucratic resource management purposes. However, bureaucratic maps offer an opportunity to represent associative cultural landscapes, intangible cultural elements, and the geographies of Indigenous peoples. Indigenous toponyms can be found on many World Heritage maps for sites located within settler societies such as New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and Canada. Currently, bureaucratic heritage maps do not emphasize or even have a method for presenting the meaning and significance of Indigenous toponyms. Instead, the names are represented as static, inanimate objects void of meaning. This article presents archival evidence that bureaucratic state maps found within some UNESCO World Heritage nomination dossiers and resource management plans contain Indigenous cartographic elements that Indigenous communities could use as the basis for creating Indigital story maps. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) La documentation du patrimoine bâti a beaucoup évolué ces dernières années grâce au développement de nouveaux capteurs 3D et de nouvelles techniques de relevé 3D. Les données 3D contribuent à la création d'archives fiables et tangibles des sites et des monuments historiques. Vu l'importance des données 3D dans la documentation du patrimoine bâti, le contrôle de qualité est un aspect primordial qui devrait être abordé avant d'entreprendre le traitement du nuage de points. L'étude est ainsi divisée en deux parties. La première partie concerne principalement l'acquisition et le contrôle de qualité des données. Un point important sera l'intégration de la photogrammétrie et de la lasergrammétrie dans le contexte de la documentation d'un site historique à différentes échelles. La deuxième partie de l'article va aborder le traitement de nuages de points, plus particulièrement la segmentation et la classification de nuages de points. L'aspect échelles de notre approche est importante, car dans beaucoup de cas, un bâtiment remarquable se situe dans un quartier historique qui nécessite une segmentation échelles. En combinant ces deux parties, nous avons considéré l'ensemble du processus allant de l'acquisition de données 3D jusqu'à la segmentation et la classification en entités à plusieurs échelles. [Termes IGN] web sémantiqueRésumé : (auteur) In the last decades, the use of information management systems in the building data processing led to radical changes to the methods of data production, documentation and archiving. In particular, the possibilities, given by these information systems, to visualize the 3D model and to formulate queries have placed the question of the information sharing in digital format. The integration of information systems represents an efficient solution for defining smart, sustainable and resilient projects, such as conservation and restoration processes, giving the possibilities to combine heterogeneous data. GIS provides a robust data storage system, a definition of topological and semantic relationships and spatial queries. 3D GIS makes possible the creation of three-dimensional model in a geospatial context. To promote the interoperability of GIS data, the present research aims first to analyse methods of conversion in CityGML and IndoorGML model, defining an ontological domain. This has led to the creation of a new enriched model, based on connections among the different elements of the urban model in GIS environment, and to the possibility to formulate queries based on these relations. The second step consists in collecting all data translated into a specific format that fill a graph database in a semantic web environment, while maintaining those relationships. The semantic web technology represents an efficient tool of interoperability that leaves open the possibility to import BIM data in the same graph database and to join both GIS and BIM models. The outcome will offer substantial benefits during the entire project life cycle. This methodology can also be applied to cultural heritage where the information management plays a key role. [Termes IGN] WikimapiaRésumé : (auteur) More than 10 years have passed since the coining of the term volunteered geographic information (VGI) in 2007. This article presents the results of a review of the literature concerning VGI. A total of 346 articles published in 24 international refereed journals in GIScience between 2007 and 2017 have been reviewed. The review has uncovered varying levels of popularity of VGI research over space and time, and varying interests in various sources of VGI (e.g. OpenStreetMap) and VGI-related terms (e.g. user-generated content) that point to the multi-perspective nature of VGI. Content-wise, using latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA), this study has extracted 50 specific research topics pertinent to VGI. The 50 topics have been subsequently clustered into 13 intermediate topics and three overarching themes to allow a hierarchical topic review. The overarching VGI research themes include (1) VGI contributions and contributors, (2) main fields applying VGI, and (3) conceptions and envisions. The review of the articles under the three themes has revealed the progress and the points that demand attention regarding the individual topics. This article also discusses the areas that the existing research has not yet adequately explored and proposes an agenda for potential future research endeavors.
