[Termes IGN] source de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) This paper maps the data lineage entities in ISO19115 and ISO19115-2, the metadata standards of the International Organization for Standardization for geographic information and for imagery and gridded data [ISO geospatial metadata (GMD)], to the entities in open provenance model (OPM). The term “map” refers to establishing a correspondence between the said entities in ISO GMD and OPM. Presently, many geospatial data available in spatial data infrastructures (SDI) are described using ISO GMD. Its structure, however, makes tracing the provenance of these data a challenging task. OPM prioritizes causal relationships between things for capturing the workflow applied to particular data, making it easier to trace the data provenance. The mapping in this paper provides a convenient means to trace the provenance of data through the OPM causal relations and evaluate the fitness for use of these data, a necessary step toward data integration. This paper uses the notion of process to identify various data processing activities encoded in ISO GMD, the resource and the agent types involved in these activities, and state changes. A software prototype to carry out the mapping is developed. The mapping result is encoded in the resource description framework format to permit integral use of geospatial data in SDI and the data from the open data world. An exemplar metadata in ISO GMD from the National Oceanographic Data Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is used to demonstrate the feasibility to convert from the ISO GMD data lineage entities to the OPM entities. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) Reconstructing fine facade geometry from MMS lidar data remains a challenge: In addition to being inherently sparse, the point cloud provided by a single street point of view is necessarily incomplete. We propose a simple framework to estimate the facade surface with a deformable 2.5d grid. Computations are performed in a ”sensor-oriented” coordinate system that maximizes consistency with the data. The algorithm allows to retrieve the facade geometry without priori knowledge. It can thus be automatically applied to a large amount of data in spite of the variability of encountered architectural forms. The 2.5d image structure of the output makes it compatible with storage and real-time constraints of immersive navigation. One of the critical problems after an earthquake is building damage assessment. The area, amount, rate, and type of the damage are essential information for rescue, humanitarian and reconstruction operations in the disaster area. Remote sensing techniques play an important role in obtaining building damage information because of their non-contact, low cost, wide field of view, and fast response capacities. Now that more and diverse types of remote sensing data become available, various methods are designed and reported for building damage assessment. This paper provides a comprehensive review of these methods in two categories: multi-temporal techniques that evaluate the changes between the pre- and post-event data and mono-temporal techniques that interpret only the post-event data. Both categories of methods are discussed and evaluated in detail in terms of the type of remote sensing data utilized, including optical, LiDAR and SAR data. Performances of the methods and future efforts are drawn from this extensive evaluation. [Termes IGN] patrimoine culturelRésumé : (Auteur) In addition to its legal implications, INSPIRE represents the most important movement towards a true implementation of interoperable spatial data services. Cultural Heritage is a thematic field that is not considered separately within INSPIRE, although some portions of it do fall within the category of Protected Sites, listed in Annex I, and also in the theme Buildings in Annex III. Developing an extended schema for Cultural Heritage data within the INSPIRE framework is an essential step towards allowing heritage information to become yet another part of the wider field of spatial information. Our aim is to achieve this by taking advantage of the benefits of the “INSPIRE movement”. This paper presents some insights into the development of such an application schema, focusing on some general, conceptual considerations upon which that specific data model has been built.
