[Termes IGN] web des donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Since geoinformation is one of the most desired re-usable information sets, the valuable data that is available through INSPIRE will also be accessible through the new pan-European data portal, says European Commissioner Neelie Kroes in this interview with GIM International. Dissatisfaction within the sector that there is a missing link between the Digital Agenda and geoinformation is not shared by Europe’s most powerful woman on e-issues today. The Digital Agenda will benefit from the experiences with INSPIRE, she says. [Termes IGN] TanzanieRésumé : (Auteur) In an attempt to show the complexity of terrestrial laser scanning of heritage sites and dispel the not infrequently found perception of a largely automated tool with close to real time processing capabilities, the individual steps of the data acquisition and processing pipeline, including registration, point cloud cleaning, surface reconstruction, hole filling, texturing and final output are discussed. Emphasized are areas in which further development and research are desirable. A brief discussion of the concepts and implementation of the African Cultural Heritage Sites and Landscapes Project, as executed by the Zamani Research Group at the University of Cape Town, is incorporated into the paper. This database integrates spatial and non-spatial data and focuses on architectural heritage sites and cultural landscapes. The spatial data comprises of 3D laser scans, GIS's for each site and its environment, stereo images, panoramas, ground plans, elevations and sections derived from laser scan models, contextual photography and videos as well as 3D landscape models. The database is primarily designed as a resource for research and higher education. However, the spatial data acquired for the project are presently used in a number of restoration and conservation projects. An important further objective is the creation of a permanent digital record. The project, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, is a joint initiative of the Zamani Research Group at the University of Cape Town and JStor, New York. [Termes IGN] téléphone intelligentRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we focus on the accuracy of optical indoor positioning and the design of an automated and mobile positioning system based on pictures taken by a cell phone camera. We restrict ourselves to automated relative pose estimation given only one image including the projection of an object with four reference points with known image and world coordinates. To infer the relative pose from the image coordinates of the reference points, we first have to detect and classify an object, afterwards localize the image coordinates, and finally apply spatial resection. We show, that if an object is correctly classified, then the quality of the positioning heavily depends on the accuracy of the localization of the image coordinates and on the choice of the spatial resection algorithm. To this end, we compare three different spatial resection algorithms and present two combinations of object classification and image coordinate localization techniques using doors as known objects. Statistical evaluations are provided to judge the different classification methods in terms of robustness and to present the accuracy of the image coordinate localization techniques.
