[Termes IGN] mise à jour de base de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) The integration of heterogeneous geospatial data offers possibilities to manually and automatically derive new information, which are not available when using only a single data source. Furthermore, it allows for a consistent representation and the propagation of updates from one data set to the other. However, different acquisition methods, data schemata and updating cycles of the content can lead to discrepancies in geometric and thematic accuracy and correctness which hamper the combined integration. To overcome these difficulties, appropriate methods for the integration and harmonization of data from different sources and of different types are needed. In this paper, we describe two generic cases including novel integration algorithms, namely the integration of two heterogeneous vector data sets, and the integration of raster and vector data. Both algorithms are linked to a federated database which allows for automatic object matching and for managing n:m relationships. We describe and illustrate our work using vector data from topography and the geosciences, as well as multi-spectral imagery. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (Auteur) Hybrid digital terrain models represent an effective framework to combine and integrate terrain data with different topology and resolution. Cartographic digital terrain models typically are constituted by regular grid data and can be refined by adding locally TINs that represent morphologically complex terrain parts. Direct rendering of both data sets to visualize the digital terrain model would generate geometric discontinuities as the meshes are disconnected. In this paper we present a new meshing scheme for hybrid terrain representations. High quality models without discontinuities are generated as the different representations are softly joined through an adaptive tessellation procedure. Due to the complexity of the algorithms involved in the tessellation procedure, we propose a mixed strategy where part of the information is pre-computed and efficiently encoded. This way, for rendering the model, the tessellation information has to be decoded and only additional simple operations have to be performed. [Termes IGN] Nouvelle-ZélandeRésumé : (Auteur) Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) is changing the form of cadastral regulation to allow the efficient operation of cadastral survey markets while ensuring the achievement of government cadastral outcomes. This, referred to as "Optimal Regulation", is also being applied to other areas of business such as land registration, topographic mapping, hydrographic charting and valuation. The phrase 'as little as possible, as much as necessary' encapsulates this philosophy of optimising the level of intervention and enabling the marketplace to develop the best solutions to meet regulated requirements. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Editeur) For eight millennia is mankind using buried infrastructure as prerequisites for development of a civilization. From ancient clean water and safe disposal of sewage our society has added enormously to this infrastructure, particularly to cater for our modern desire for energy and telecommunications. Therefore the utility companies in the UK have decided to enhance and integrate existing legacy asset information with dynamically acquired accurately geo-referenced data and to get this unseen maze of pipes and cables beneath our feet accurately recorded and mapped.
