[Termes IGN] mission spatialeRésumé : (auteur) The emergence of quantum technologies, including cold atom based accelerometers, offers an opportunity to improve the performances of space geodesy missions. In this context, CNES initiated an assessment study called GRICE (GRadiométrie à Interféromètres quantiques Corrélés pour l’Espace) in order to evaluate the impact of cold atom technologies to space geodesy and to the end users of the geodetic data. In this paper, we present a specific mission scenario for gravity field mapping based on a twin satellite concept. The mission uses a constellation of two satellites each equipped with a cold atom accelerometer. A laser link measures the distance between the two satellites and couples these two instruments in order to produce a correlated differential acceleration measurement. The main parameters, determining the performances of the payload, have been investigated. In addition, a preliminary study of mass, consumption and volume has been conducted to ensure the onboard feasibility of these instruments. A general study of the satellite architecture, including all the subsystems, has also been realized and is presented here. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (Auteur) To support precise orbit determination of the altimetry missions, the International DORIS Service (IDS) regularly estimates the DPOD (DORIS terrestrial reference frame for Precise Orbit Determination) solution which includes mean positions and velocities of all the DORIS stations. This solution is aligned to the current realization of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) and so, can be seen as a DORIS extension of the ITRF. In 2016, moving to the IDS Combination Center, the DPOD construction scheme changed. The new DPOD solution is produced from a DORIS cumulative position and velocity solution. We present the new methodology used to compute DPOD2014 and its validation procedure. In order to present geophysical applications and interpretations of these results, we show two examples: (1) the Gorkha earthquake (M7.8 – April 2015) generates a 3-D mis-positioning of nearly 55 mm of the EVEB DORIS station at the Everest base camp 90 km from the epicenter. (2) Applying the results the DPOD2014 realization, we show that the most recent vertical velocity of Thule, Greenland is similar to that observed between 2006 and 2010, indicating further ongoing ice mass loss in the Thule region of northwest Greenland. Note de contenu : 1- Introduction

[Termes IGN] géoïde localRésumé : (Auteur) Least-squares collocation (LSC) is a crucial mathematical tool for solving many geodetic problems. It has the capability to adjust, filter, and predict unknown quantities that affect many geodetic applications. Hence, this study aims to enhance the predictability property of LSC through applying soft computing techniques in the stage of describing the covariance function. Soft computing techniques include the support vector machine (SVM), least-squares-support vector machine (LS-SVM), and artificial neural network (ANN). A real geodetic case study is used to predict a national geoid from the EGM2008 global geoid model in Egypt. A comparison study between parametric and soft computing techniques was performed to assess the LSC predictability accuracy. We found that the predictability accuracy increased when using soft computing techniques in the range of 10.2 %–27.7 % and 8.2 %–29.8 % based on the mean square error and the mean error terms, respectively, compared with the parametric models. The LS-SVM achieved the highest accuracy among the soft computing techniques. In addition, we found that the integration between the LS-SVM with LSC exhibits an accuracy of 20 % and 25 % higher than using LS-SVM independently as a predicting tool, based on the mean square error and mean error terms, respectively. Consequently, the LS-SVM integrated with LSC is recommended for enhanced predictability in geodetic applications. [Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéRésumé : (Auteur) Due to the rapid deployment of the Galileo constellation, Galileo is now able to contribute to GNSS precise point positioning (PPP) ambiguity resolution (AR) with 17 operational satellites as of December 2017. We estimate the satellite fractional cycle bias (FCB) based on globally distributed MGEX stations and assess the Galileo FCB quality by a comparison with that of GPS and BDS. Results of 60 days indicate that the quality of Galileo wide-lane (WL) FCB is better than GPS and BDS in terms of data usage rate, residual distribution, as well as standard deviation of daily estimates. The RMS of Galileo WL FCB residuals is 0.071 cycles, while that of GPS and BDS are 0.089 and 0.117 cycles, respectively. The standard deviation of Galileo daily WL FCB is 0.010 cycles, while that of GPS and BDS is 0.018 and 0.043 cycles. We attribute the better quality of Galileo WL FCB to its signal modulation, AltBOC, which significantly compresses the multipath effect for pseudorange measurement. Within the Galileo constellation, the performance of In-Orbit Validation (IOV) satellites WL FCB is worse than that of Full Operational Capability (FOC) satellites as a result of a reduction in the power of the transmitted signal. The performance of the two highly eccentric satellites is comparable to other FOC satellites. The overall quality of Galileo narrow-lane (NL) FCB is slightly worse than that of GPS but better than that of BDS. The RMS of Galileo NL FCB residuals is 0.062 cycles, while that for GPS and BDS is 0.050 and 0.086 cycles respectively. In addition, the NL FCB quality of FOC, IOV (except E19), as well as the two eccentric satellites, shows no significant difference in terms of data usage rates and residuals. Galileo PPP AR solutions are conducted at 20 MGEX stations with 3-h sessions for 10 days. The positional biases of AR solutions are 0.7, 0.6, and 2.1 cm for east, north and up components respectively, while those for float solutions are 2.1, 1.1, and 2.7 cm, corresponding to the improvements of 67, 45, and 22%, respectively. These results demonstrate that, currently, Galileo FCB can be estimated with accuracy comparable with GPS and BDS, and the Galileo observations can bring an obvious benefit to ambiguity-fixed PPP.
